  • Publication number: 20240074655
Abstract: This application discloses systems for the measurement of the shape of the eye and evaluation of a contact lens fit. The measurements of the eye shape can be beneficial for designing specialty contact lenses or for selecting an appropriate contact lens for a specific patient. After the measurement of the shape of the eye is performed, the disclosed systems and methods can be used to analyze the shape, quantify various parameters, and create a simplified graphical representation of the measured eye.

  • Patent number: 11653829
Abstract: A method of performing an optometric examination of a patient includes positioning the patient behind a phoropter; presenting visual stimuli to the patient using a computer-controlled device; recording the patient's response to the stimuli; automatically adjusting the settings of the phoropter to improve one or more characteristics of the patient's vision; and automatically determining the prescription for the refractive error correction for the patient.

  • Patent number: 11213199
Abstract: A method of analyzing the degree of abnormality in the eye is provided, and in the method at least some portion of the functional evaluation of the eye's visual function is performed by presenting visual stimuli in mesopic conditions. A visual function examination device is provided, and in the device the spectral composition of the stimuli is generated by a projection or display device, and the said projection or display device can be adjusted so that individual receptor types can be excited by the said stimuli.

  • Publication number: 20210149218
Abstract: Specialty contact lenses can be designed using approximations of one or both surfaces using mathematical representations. The approximations can be configured to optimize the lens manufacturing process. Constraints can be applied to the approximation to achieve the targeted results. The constraints can be assigned based at least in part on labels applied to measurements of the eye. Lens fit parameters can also be applied to control the degree to which the approximation approaches perfectly matching a targeted shape (e.g., the topography of the patient's eye). For example, the lens fit parameter can be related to the order of the mathematical representation used in the approximation. The contact lenses designed and manufactured using the methods and systems disclosed herein can be of any suitable type including, but not limited to, scleral lenses.

  • Patent number: 10219693
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, systems and methods that combine structural examination capabilities of one device with functional examination capabilities of another device to perform a separate or combined structural and functional evaluation of visual functions of the patient's eyes are described herein. A system for combined structural and functional evaluation of a retina may include a structural evaluation unit which may be an OCT, PS-OCT, SLO or PS-SLO and a functional evaluation unit which may be a perimeter, microperimeter, or any other type of visual field analyzer. The structural evaluation unit and the functional evaluation unit may be located within a same housing, and thus may be utilized as a single device. The structural evaluation unit may record structural measurements associated with the patient's eye or retina and the functional evaluation unit may record functional measurements associated with the patient's field of view.
