  • Patent number: 12331852
Abstract: A seal system includes a first annular component having a radially-outer surface with a first threaded portion and a first sealing portion, wherein the first sealing portion has a first angled surface that is oriented at a first angle relative to a vertical axis. The seal system also includes a second annular component having a radially-inner surface with a second threaded portion and a second sealing portion, wherein the second sealing portion has a second angled surface that is oriented at a second angle relative to the vertical axis, and the second angle is different from the first angle. The first annular component and the second annular component are configured to threadably couple to one another via the first threaded portion and the second threaded portion and to form a metal-to-metal seal against one another via the first angled surface and the second angled surface.

  • Patent number: 12065901
Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein include expanding and collapsing apparatus that include a slips cartridge that is bookended by seal elements. The pressure (e.g., whether from uphole and/or from downhole of the downhole tool) pushes at axial points at which the seal elements abut the slips cartridge. In addition, all of the load is transferred to the wellbore casing, and not to an inner mandrel at all. Specifically, the inner mandrel only experiences the setting force in tension. In addition, the elastomer that is being used is not stretched during expansion, but simply moved as it is expanded.

  • Publication number: 20240233903
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to integrated systems, methods and apparatuses for assisting individuals in managing acute life-threatening conditions. A system in accordance with the current disclosure may comprise an electronic circuit configured to be attached to a container of a medication and one or more devices in communication with the electronic circuit in a private network. In an aspect, the one or more devices may work in concert to determine the safety level of an individual based on predetermined usage settings. In some aspects, the system may be configured to determine whether a medication would expire before its manufactured expiry date. In another aspect, the system may assist an individual in locating a medication. In a further aspect, the system may determine whether an individual is having an anaphylactic reaction. In some aspects, the system may detect a known allergen and alert the individual.

  • Patent number: 11898413
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide an expanding and collapsing apparatus and methods of use. The apparatus includes a plurality of elements assembled together to form a ring structure about a longitudinal axis. The ring structure is operable to be moved between an expanded condition and a collapsed condition by movement of the plurality of elements. At least one set of structural elements are operable to move between the expanded condition and the collapsed condition by movement of a first end in an axial direction, and by movement of a second end in a radial dimension. In certain embodiments, the plurality of elements includes at least one set of structural elements extending longitudinally on the apparatus and operable to slide with respect to one another. Applications of the embodiments described herein include oilfield devices, including anti-extrusion rings, plugs, packers, locks, patching tools, connection systems, and variable diameter tools run in a wellbore.

  • Patent number: 11814920
Abstract: A technique facilitates patching of a tubing (42), e.g. casing (36), in a downhole environment (32). The technique employs a patching system comprising a plurality of expansion rings (48). The expansion rings (48) are moved downhole to a patch zone (38) along the tubing (34). Once in a desired position at the patch zone, the expansion rings (48) are expanded into engagement with an inner surface of the tubing. For example, the expansion rings may comprise seal elements (52) and/or anchor elements which are expanded into engagement with the inside surface. The patching system further comprises a patch (68) which may have a tubular shape. The patch is radially expanded in a manner which maintains a sealing engagement with the plurality of expansion rings (48) to create a sealed patch across a desired region in the patch zone.
