  • Publication number: 20240137460
Abstract: There is provided a broadband signal tap (10) comprising a housing (12) and a cover (14) adapted to be removable from and attachable to the housing (12), the housing (12) comprising a power continuity connector (24) and the cover (14) comprising at least one external subscriber port (16), wherein at least one electrically conductive pad (32, 34) is disposed within the housing (12) to physically and electrically contact the housing (12) and the power continuity connector (24) and so remove resonant effects. The at least one electrically conductive pad (32, 34) comprises a first portion (56, 62) for engaging with the housing and a second portion (58, 60) for engaging with the power continuity connector (24). A cover (14) incorporating at least one electrically conductive pad (32, 34) is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20240130054
Abstract: There is provided a face plate (36) for a cable tap (10) comprising a printed circuit board (PCB) (40) and first and second electrically conductive interface elements (32, 32?) in contact with the PCB (40), wherein the first interface element (32) has a first impedance and is configured to engage with an input connector (24) within a back box (12) and the second interface element (32?) has a second impedance and is configured to engage with an output connector (24?) within the back box (12). The interface elements are elongate pins, typically with a length in the range 2 to 25 mm. A support structure (42) disposed around each interface element. Part of the support structure (42) forms a boss (64, 64?) mountable on electrical switches associated with a power bar (70) within a back box.

  • Patent number: 11515654
Abstract: There is provided a connector comprising an electrically conductive member (48) fixed in position within a rotatable insulating body (42), the electrically conductive member (48) comprising at least one connection channel (72, 74), a biasing member (46) such as a torsion spring connected to the insulating body (42), and an insertion axis (94), wherein the rotatable insulating body (42) is formed with at least one tapered guide channel (44) in which is located an insertion axis and the insulating body (42) is rotatable from a first biased position in which the at least one tapered guide channel (44) is offset from the connection channel (72, 74) to a second biased position where the at least one connection channel (72, 74) is aligned with the insertion axis (94). The electrically conductive member (48) is rotatable against a biasing force of the biasing member (46) upon insertion of a conductor pin.
