  • Patent number: 11938242
Abstract: A method of reducing malodor on surfaces including providing an apparatus in an environment including a surface wherein the surface has a malodor containing compound selected from: amine-containing compound and thiol-containing compound. The apparatus includes a volatile material having a volatile carbonyl containing compound. The volatile material is exposed to the environment such that the volatile carbonyl containing compound vaporises and deposits on the surface. The carbonyl containing compound undergoes a nucleophilic addition in the presence of the malodor containing compound.

  • Publication number: 20220074935
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining a hygiene condition of an interior space is described. The method has the steps of: a) obtaining relative abundance of at least one bacterium of human health concern in an interior space; b) generating a Microbial Index of Interior Space (“Microbial Index”) for the interior space based on the relative abundance; and c) displaying an output indicative of the Microbial Index for determining a hygiene condition of the interior space. The Microbial Index is characterized by a function of the relative abundance of the at least one bacterium of human health concern defined by F(?i=1NPi), wherein N: Number of bacteria of human health concern identified in a microbial community in the interior space; P: Relative abundance of i-th bacteria of human health concern in the microbial community.

  • Publication number: 20220002632
Abstract: A scent intensity regulating composition (RIS composition). The RIS composition includes at least two of: a first scent intensity regulating component (RIS component) having an average vapor pressure (VP) greater than 0.3 Torr at 25° C.; a second RIS component having an average VP from 0.07 to 0.3 Torr at 25° C.; and a third RIS component having an average VP from 0.0099 to 0.07 Torr at 25° C. Each of the first, second, and third RIS components is characterized by an Odor Detection Threshold (ODT) of greater than 20 ppb.

  • Publication number: 20220002633
Abstract: A volatile composition having: (i) greater than 30% of a scented hydrophobic material by weight of the volatile composition, wherein the scented hydrophobic material comprises one or more volatile compounds; and (ii) greater than 20% of a regulating scent intensity (RIS) composition by weight of the volatile composition. The RIS composition has at least two of: a first regulating scent intensity component (RIS component) having a high average vapor pressure (VP); a second RIS component having a medium average VP; and a third RIS component having a low average VP; The average VP of each of said one or more volatile compounds is lower than at least one of the high, medium and low average VPs of the first, second and third RIS components at the same temperature.

  • Publication number: 20210106710
Abstract: An antibacterial air freshening product for an interior environment. The product includes a container containing 1 ml to 50 ml of a freshening composition in fluid communication with a membrane. The composition is substantially free of a surfactant and has from 0.5% to 20% of a volatile aldehyde mixture, by weight of the composition. The volatile aldehyde mixture includes a C5 to C8 unbranched unsubstituted linear alkenal and a C9 to C14 unbranched unsubstituted linear alkenal. A weight ratio of the C5 to C8 unbranched unsubstituted linear alkenal to the C9 to C14 unbranched unsubstituted linear alkenal is from 3:1 to 1:3.

  • Patent number: 10549003
Abstract: A method of demonstrating efficacy of a malodor counteractant product, the method comprising the steps of: a) treating one of two odorous fabric articles with a malodor counteractant product, wherein the two odorous fabric articles comprise a malodor compound and are treated with a color indicator wherein the color indicator is configured to change color upon interaction with a malodor compound; b) providing the treated one of the two odorous fabric articles in a first enclosed environment comprising one of two odorless fabric articles, wherein the two odorless fabric articles are treated with the color indicator; c) providing the other one of the two odorous fabric articles in a second enclosed environment comprising the other one of two odorless fabric articles; and d) allow the odorous and odorless fabric articles to remain in the first and second enclosed environments for a period of time sufficient to cause a difference of color between the one of two odorless fabric articles in the first enclosed env
