Abstract: A system and device for the easy and reliable detection of a strike on a fishing line and prevention of line entanglement is herein described. A bobber is placed on a conventional fishing line, which is suspended from a clamp that is removably attached to a conventional fishing pole. Affixed to the clamp is a shield portion, which functions as a device to eliminate any line entanglement or accidental rotation of the bobber around the pole. An alternate embodiment of the present invention provides additional visibility, comprising a bobber displaying fluorescent means.
