  • Patent number: 10953944
Abstract: A saddle bag mounting bracket preferably includes a base plate, clamp lever, a latch lever, a pressure adjustment device, a first pin clamp and a second pin clamp. The clamp lever is slidably engaged with the base plate. The latch lever is pivotally retained on one end of the clamp lever and biased with an extension spring. The latch lever includes a finger release, such that clamp lever may be unlatched from a latch tab extending from the base plate. One end of the pressure adjustment device is adjustably connected to the second pin clamp and an opposing end is pivotally connected to the clamp lever. The first and second pin clamps lock the base plate into first and second pins extending from a motorcycle or the like, when the clamp lever is latched. A key lock is preferably used to prevent the clamp lever from being unlatched.

  • Patent number: 8944303
Abstract: A clamp-on saddle bag mounting system preferably includes a base plate, a first pin plate, a second pin plate and a clamp unit. The base plate is secured to a saddle bag. The first pin plate is attached to a bottom of the base plate at a first end. The first pin plate is offset to receive a first end of the clamp unit. One end of the second pin plate is attached to a bottom of the base plate at a second end. The second pin plate is offset to receive a second end of the clamp unit. First and second mounting pins are inserted through the first and second pin plates. The clamp lever is pushed down to secure the saddle bag to a motorcycle. An offset mounting bracket is used to offset the position of a mounting pin on a mounting pin base of a motorcycle.

  • Patent number: 7775411
Abstract: A cycle bag with adjustable retention device for securement to a rack includes a cycle bag, at least one adjustable attachment device and at least two strap retainers. The cycle bag preferably includes a compartment for storing objects and a cover hinged to the compartment. Each adjustable attachment device includes a base, two hooks and two straps. Each adjustable attachment device is attached to a bottom of the cycle bag. The two hooks are slidable retained by the adjustable attachment device and a single strap is attached to each hook. Strap retainers are located inside the cycle bag. The cycle bag is placed on a rack. The at least two hooks are slipped over rails of the rack. One of the first or second straps is pulled, until the cycle bag is centered on the rack. The first and second straps are then secured in their respective strap retainers.

  • Patent number: 6830169
Abstract: A quick release saddlebag mounting system preferably includes two mounting assemblies, two mounting brackets and two mounting bolts. Each mounting assembly includes a cam, a driving handle, and at least one plate. The cam is retained in the at least one plate. The driving handle is attached to the cam with any suitable process. A hole is formed through the at least one plate to slidably receive a single mounting bolt. Each mounting assembly is preferably attached to a side of a saddlebag with a mounting bracket. Each mounting bolt is attached to a fender or mounting structure of a motor vehicle. The two mounting bolts are located to be received by the holes of the two mounting assemblies. To attach the saddlebag to the motor vehicle, the cam in each mounting assembly is rotated until the cam is firmly engaged with the cam spindle.
