  • Patent number: 11466539
Abstract: A work string locatable in a borehole so as to form an annulus around the work string and a method of depressurizing the annulus are provided. The work string includes a packer expandable radially out from the work string to seal the annulus and a packer sub positioned below the packer including a sub body and a check valve in the body and operable to permit fluid in the annulus to flow into the work string and prevent fluid in the work string from flowing into the annulus. The check valve is operable to open and permit fluid in the annulus to flow into the work string upon exertion of a predetermined minimum pressure on the check valve by the fluid in the annulus. The method includes providing the work string in the borehole and depressurizing the annulus by permitting fluid in the annulus to flow through the check valve.

  • Patent number: 11396796
Abstract: A soluble abrasive cutting tool is configured to perform a cutting operation in a wellbore. The cutting operation comprising directing a pressurized stream of an abrasive fluid containing abrasive particles at a surface in the wellbore. For example, a stream of abrasive particles can be directed via a nozzle on the cutting tool at casing in the wellbore to perforate the casing. The abrasive particles are selected to dissolve in the wellbore fluid after the cutting operations have been completed. Once dissolved, the wellbore fluid can be removed from the area of the cutting operations without clogging tubing or pumps used to remove the wellbore fluid.

  • Patent number: 11319778
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method according to which debris is cleaned from a casing that extends within a wellbore. The method generally includes running a downhole tool into the casing, the downhole tool comprising an isolation tool, a setting tool, and a casing scraper. Debris is then cleaned from an inner surface of the casing at a depth interval using the casing scraper. After cleaning the debris from the inner surface of the casing, the isolation tool is set against the inner surface of the casing at the depth interval using the setting tool to isolate a zone of the wellbore. After setting the isolation tool against the inner surface of the casing, a wellbore operation is performed in which isolation of the zone of the wellbore is required. The downhole tool is then drilled out of the casing using a drill bit.

  • Publication number: 20210277736
Abstract: An operation may require isolation of a wellbore using multiple barriers. A single-run multiple barrier system may be deployed in a wellbore to position a first barrier at a first depth and a second barrier at second depth above the first barrier in the wellbore during a single run of a wellbore tubular string. The first barrier is coupled to a first miming tool. A wellbore tubular string segment couples the first miming tool is coupled to the second barrier. The second barrier is coupled to a second running tool that couples to the wellbore tubular string. The second barrier is locked until the first barrier is independently set at the first depth to prevent the second barrier from being set until the second depth is reached. Setting both barriers in a single run increases efficiency in an operation including reducing costs and time for completion of the operation.
