  • Patent number: 5964023
Abstract: A mechanical joint tube assembly and method of creating the same is disclosed for providing an improved fluid fitting assembly. A fitting having a primary tapered bore is forced onto a tube that has a larger diameter. The tube is radially contracted in certain portions and is radially expanded in other portions of the fitting in order to create a plurality of compression seals. A collar of the fitting is crimped around the bead that is formed in the tube in order to provide an additional compression seal and means for retaining the tube within the fitting. Alternative forms of the primary bore in the fitting includes a hexagonal shaped configuration, a splined shaped configuration and a slotted collar configuration for enhancing retention of the tube within the fitting. A unique method of manufacturing is used to make these tube fitting assemblies.

  • Patent number: 4658686
Abstract: A miter gage having an adjustable workpiece clamp. The miter gage is of the type having a bar shaped to slidably engage a guideway of a tool work table, a protractor mounted on the bar and a grip mounted on the protractor. The clamping device includes a lock guide having a base adapted to be attached to the grip, a longitudinally-extending, vertical opening and a pair of opposing side walls; a U-shaped lock clamp having a sidewardly-opening channel receiving the lock guide and including a vertical bore positioned in registry with the lock guide opening, a lock rod extending vertically through the bore and opening and a lock knob having a stud which is threaded through the side of the lock clamp to bear against an adjacent sidewall of the lock guide. Displacement of the threaded stud relative to the lock clamp urges the lock guide sidewardly out of the channel and causes the lock rod to be urged against the lock guide, thereby preventing its relative movement.

  • Patent number: 4548246
Abstract: A multipurpose woodworking tool of the type having a frame, a pair of parallel way tubes extending longitudinally of the frame, and a headstock mounted on the way tubes in which the improvement comprises a pair of yokes joining the way tubes together at ends thereof, pairs of upright members at the ends of the frame and spaced apart to receive one of the yokes therebetween, and an apparatus extending between the yokes and the upright members which enables the way tubes to be changed in elevation between a lower elevation optimal for utilizing a table saw attachment mounted on the way tubes and a higher elevation optimal for utilizing a lathe attachment. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes spring-loaded pins which are sidewardly displaceable from the yokes, and holes positioned at at least two elevations on the upright members to be engaged by the pins.
