Patent number: 11001429Abstract: A stand-up plastic food storage bag having two bottom gusset walls and a folding seam defining abutment of the front bottom gusset wall to the rear bottom gusset wall. There are gusset wall reinforced regions on an external surface of the bottom gusset walls which do not cover the folding seam, so they do not significantly interfere with folding the seam when collapsing the bag into its storage condition.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2019Date of Patent: May 11, 2021Assignee: Inteplast Group CorporationInventors: Garth Bielke, Sompop Teeranukool

Patent number: 10414566Abstract: A stand-up plastic food storage bag having two bottom gusset walls and a folding seam defining abutment of the front bottom gusset wall to the rear bottom gusset wall. There are gusset wall reinforcement layers on an external surface of the bottom gusset walls, and these reinforcement layers terminate at least about 0.25 cm away from the folding seam, and do not cover the folding seam, so they do not significantly interfere with folding the seam when collapsing the bag into its storage condition. A method for forming such stand-up plastic food storage bags by coextruding a monolayer plastic panel film and two monolayer plastic gusset floor reinforcement layers, wherein the monolayer plastic gusset floor reinforcement layers comprise two parallel strips spaced apart by at least about 0.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2017Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: Inteplast Group CorporationInventors: Garth Bielke, Sompop Teeranukool

Patent number: 9815238Abstract: A system and method for extruding film with a thickened profile section. In some embodiments, the film forms bags with integral zipper profiles. Plastic film is extruded to form a tube. During extrusion, cooling jets direct cooling gases toward the thickened profile section below the frost line to preferentially cool the thickened profile sections. In some embodiments, warm air is drawn out of the tube interior through hot air intakes located below the frost line. In certain embodiments, the film is extruded at a higher rate of speed than conventional processes. Likewise, the extruded film tube is expanded at a lower blow up ratio than conventional processes in certain preferred embodiments. In some embodiments, the extrusion system includes an air flow surface oriented relative to the film tube to define an air flow gap of substantially uniform thickness.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2015Date of Patent: November 14, 2017Assignee: Inteplast Group CorporationInventors: Roy Kosub, Alan Mosley, Garth Bielke, Jacob Arriaga, Jon Wagner

Publication number: 20160096659Abstract: The present disclosure relates to reclosable freezer bags with landing rails to reduce the contact of the bag walls to other surfaces, particularly while frozen, thereby reducing the formation of apertures or holes in the bag walls. This disclosure has many applications, but is particularly adapted to applications wherein reclosable bags are used to transport, freeze and store expressed mother's milk.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2013Publication date: April 7, 2016Applicant: Minigrip LLCInventors: Garth Bielke, Alan Jeffrey Mosley
