  • Patent number: 11328692
Abstract: A head-mounted situational awareness system and method of operation provides a head gear with a retinal display, and multiple sensory-related electrical components. A microphone array and a motion sensor are integrated into head gear. The microphone array detects incoming audio signals to generate an audio signal. The motion sensor detects position and orientation of head gear relative to audio source to generate a position signal. A processor utilizes speech-to-text software to translate the sound to text for display on retinal display. The processor utilizes a position algorithm and triangulation functions to generate a position graphic of audio source. Noise cancelling software reduces background noise to sound. A remote subsystem, or command center, communicates audio signal and position signal with the head gear to receive an audio picture of the area, and also to generate actionable information that displays in real time on the retinal display of head gear.

  • Publication number: 20050023772
Abstract: The invention described herein is a shaped seal or gasket for use with a screw cap as commonly used in chemical barrels. The shaped gasket has a profile that includes a winged portion for contacting a sealing surface. The winged portion of the gasket defines a concave surface. The gasket has a second surface, or zone of contact, for contacting against a second surface, such as the underside of a screw cap. The winged portion of the gasket profile is wider than the zone of contact. The gasket profile can take on many different configurations, as shown in the drawings.

  • Patent number: 5510604
Abstract: In a method of, and apparatus for, reading a barcode, a barcode symbol is optically scanned into a memory (13), and a plurality of scans across the stored image are made and processed to determine the barcode. The scans are made at interleaved positions across the barcode, and are stored in a storage device (87) and tested in a testing unit (88) for a consensus of at least 2 scans, further scans being made if necessary. Preferably, more than half the scans should be in matching agreement to determine that a consensus has been reached. Each scan may be averaged from several sub-scans. The scans may be decoded into symbols. Various validity tests may be made on the scans. The scans are analysed by measuring the positions of the black-to-white and white-to-black transitions in them; the positions of the transitions may be interpolated between pixel positions.
