Patent number: 9754478Abstract: Reducing nuisance notifications from building automation systems is described herein. One device includes a memory, and a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to receive a notification of an alarm from a building automation system, compare attributes of the alarm to attributes of alarms included in a database of suppressed alarms, refrain from transmitting a notification of the alarm to a mobile device in response to the attributes of the alarm matching attributes of any of the alarms in the database, and transmit a notification of the alarm to a mobile device in response to the attributes of the alarm not matching the attributes of any of the alarms in the database.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2016Date of Patent: September 5, 2017Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Gary Fuller, Dae-Soon Kwon, Yi-Chang Hsieh, Andie Kurniawan, Martin Lee, Paul Vanderstraeten

Patent number: 9170574Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for configuring a BMS. In general terms, the present technology is focused on approaches for arranging and modeling building information data, particularly in terms of equipment categories and relationships between pieces of equipment, for example in the context of an HVAC system. This is advantageous in the sense that the likes of visualization, application creation, and reporting are able to be significantly streamlined. Various embodiments make use of an “equipment model”, being a model which defines items for each piece of equipment in a building system based on predefined standards, thus allowing for predictable descriptions (for example in terms of data points and relationships). Some embodiments combine this with a facility model, which describes a building in spatial terms.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2010Date of Patent: October 27, 2015Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Gary Fuller, Kendall Paix, Shine Yin, John David Morrison

Patent number: 9075863Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing business objects. In overview, various embodiments provide software, hardware and methodologies underlying a data driven application including a data driven business layer, optionally in combination with a data driven user interface and presentation layer. In overview, an object-oriented computer program includes a presentation layer, a business layer, and a database. The business layer provides business objects, which effectively interpose the presentation layer with the database. Publication number: 20100004863Abstract: A system determines dew point and temperatures through a mobile platform. The system identifies a likelihood of condensation forming on a roadway surface. A controller may process the data to determine the likelihood of frost, ice, and/or black ice conditions. Some systems provide aural, visual, and/or tactile signals or feedback to identify a condition or a change in conditions. The change, condition, and/or data may be associated with position data.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2009Publication date: January 7, 2010Inventors: Spencer Ladow, Larry Campbell, Gary Fuller

Publication number: 20100004862Abstract: A system determines temperatures and relative humidity from a mobile platform. The system includes a mobile sensor that measures relative humidity and a second mobile sensor that measures temperatures. A processor processes the sensor data to determine temperatures at which quantities of air retaining water vapor may be cooled to cause a condensation. The temperatures may be linked to position data that identifies position in many weather conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2009Publication date: January 7, 2010Applicant: Quixote Transporation Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Gentles, Gary Fuller, Moshe Golberstein

Publication number: 20080030066Abstract: A cutting bit includes a body having a front surface and a side surface, the side surface including a shoulder below the front surface and extending substantially perpendicular to a central axis of the body, and a ring that is harder than the body attached to the body at a front surface of the shoulder. Wear life of the cutting bit is enhanced by maintaining particular dimensional relationships regarding the position of the ring on the body, and the diameter of portions of the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventors: Gregory Mercier, Gary Fuller

Patent number: 6634444Abstract: A drill bit for trenchless drilling includes a bit body defining a longitudinal axis about which the drill bit is rotated during a trenchless drilling operation. Two sets of cutting teeth are mounted at a front end of the bit body, the sets disposed on opposite sides of the axis. The first and second sets are brazed into respective slots formed in the first and second side surfaces of the bit body. The slots on each side surface communicate with a common groove, wherein the groove forms a shoulder against which rear ends of the cutting teeth abut.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2002Date of Patent: October 21, 2003Assignee: Sandvik Rock Tools, Inc.Inventors: Gary A. Patent number: 6202327Abstract: A vehicle-mounted ice-scraping mechanism includes a tool carrier mounted on the vehicle, and a plurality of non-rotatable ice-scraping tools mounted on the tool carrier and depending downwardly therefrom. Each tool includes a shank mounted to the tool carrier, and a cutting head depending downwardly from the shank. The cutting head is formed of a steel main body, and a carbide insert is mounted in the steel body at a location spaced from a front end of the steel body. During a wear-in period, front and bottom surfaces of the steel body define a rake face and a clearance face, respectively, of the tool. After the wear-in period, front and bottom surfaces of the insert define the rake face and clearance face, respectively. The tool is oriented such that the shank and the rake face extend upwardly and forwardly to define a positive rake angle. The tool shanks are cylindrical and are mounted in cylindrical bores in the tool carrier.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1999Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Assignee: Eimco LLCInventors: Gary A.
