Publication number: 20190325512Abstract: In an example embodiment described herein, there is disclosed a method for using a distributed ledger (e.g., a blockchain) for tracking debt information. For example, debt data is created by a first financial institution responsive to a loan. The debt data is stored in a distributed ledger by the first financial institution with a first key that is associated with the first financial institution. Payment data is also stored in the distributed ledger encrypted by the first key. Upon transfer of the debt to a second financial institution, subsequent debt data is stored in the distributed ledger encrypted by a second key associated with the second financial institution.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2017Publication date: October 24, 2019Inventors: Devon Watson, Gary A. Ganger, Gregory Shimek, Vanessa Gagnon, Douglas Kurt HARTUNG

Publication number: 20190236581Abstract: A method and system for linking transaction information provided prior to or upon arrival at the drive-through lane with a computing device in a drive-through is disclosed herein. A first input is received at a first computing device from second computing device of a user. The first input includes details of an exchange of a physical article and an account associated with the user. Subsequently, a second input is received by first computing device that includes the account and data associated with an exchange location. A third computing device is positioned along a drive-through lane at the exchange location. The first computing device communicates at least part of the first input to the third computing device in response to the receiving the second input. A physical article is exchanged with the user in response to the first input.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2018Publication date: August 1, 2019Inventors: Douglas Kurt HARTUNG, Gregory Shimek, Gary A. Publication number: 20180144586Abstract: A system for onboarding banking-account information (an onboarding transaction) to be use in future transactions includes a banking-device terminal with a card-reading device to read a banking card and input device(s) to receive a verification input associating the banking card with a banking customer. One or more secure bank computing devices receive the banking-account information and the verification input and verify the banking-account information corresponds with the verification input to authorize the onboarding transaction. When the onboarding transaction is authorized, the at-least-one secure bank-computing device requests a customer-device identification of a mobile-customer device to be used for future-banking transactions. The secure bank computing device(s) receive the customer-device identification and store account data associated with the customer-device identification, the banking-account information and/or the verification input so that they may be used for future-banking transactions.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2016Publication date: May 24, 2018Applicant: DIEBOLD NIXDORF, INCORPORATEDInventors: Douglas K. Patent number: 7644039Abstract: An automated financial transaction apparatus (10) includes a touch screen interface (14) and a plurality of transaction function devices (22, 34, 36, 42, 46, 50, 54, 58) which operate to carry out financial transactions for users. A reading device (18, 78) senses characteristic features of users who operate the machine. Data stored in at least one data store associated with at least one computer (62, 118, 120) includes data representative of the characteristic features associated with a plurality of users and for each user, at least one interface parameter. The apparatus operates so that when the characteristic feature associated with a particular user is sensed by the reading device, the display screen and other input and output devices are changed in position or operation to accommodate the stature, disabilities, desires or other special requirements of the user.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2001Date of Patent: January 5, 2010Assignee: Diebold, IncorporatedInventors: Paul Magee, Gary A.
