  • Patent number: 10305701
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and estimating parameters for a phase-modulated signal in a continuous manner with near-optimal performance. The methods generate these estimates using streaming (or on-the-fly) calculations and so are suitable for hardware-based implementation. These estimates can be used as part of standard pulse descriptor words for radar and other pulsed or continuous signals that are reported by an electronic warfare receiver to a processing and display system. Also, the methods can be computed using sub-sampling methods in order to reduce overall computations.

  • Patent number: 10288312
Abstract: An insulating shell designed to fit a variety of thermal expansion tanks which provides substantial insulation. The insulation shell includes a first half shell, a second half shell, and an interlocking mechanism. The first half shell and the second half shell join together to form an enclosed shell with a hollow interior. The first half shell and the second half shell each include a main body, a central cavity, and a hole. The main body provides the thermal insulation. The central cavity laterally traverses into the main body through a planar mating surface and receives the tank. The hole traverses into the main body from an external surface to an internal surface and received associated plumbing of the tank. The interlocking mechanism includes a first engaging element and a second engaging element, which are used to attach the first half shell and the second half shell together.

  • Patent number: 10135475
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing a multitude of variable and varying signals in real time with low latency using fixed hardware with fixed processing resources, such as those within an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) or a field-programmable gated array (FPGA). The signal processing systems and methods allow the resource allocation to continuously adjust their processing as a result of changing signal conditions. In accordance with various embodiments, fixed processing resources in ASIC or FPGA form are dynamically allocated through an intelligent interleaving methodology that efficiently maps the signal processing of incoming signals while essentially preserving the same latency as if each signal channel were processed at the full sample rate. This is accomplished by multiplexing under the control of a resource sharing algorithm.

  • Patent number: 9991908
Abstract: A blind source separation (BSS) system comprises means for gathering wideband signal power spectral information without using special Fourier transform hardware/software systems and without using extremely large signal memories. The method involves taking the combined energy output of a large set of BSS filters that are operating under a blind source separation algorithm that looks for signals of interest, along with instantaneous filter characteristics such as center frequency, bandwidth and spectral response, and records a weighted spread energy into a frequency- and time-based histogram. This information can then be used to compare against the BSS signal output and signal energy which does not correspond to existing signal output is added to additional BSS signal output. This system can operate in real time, but uses long-term averaging to enhance signal detection.

  • Publication number: 20180091797
Abstract: A method is provided of compensating for variations in distance and orientation between first and second wing-mounted cameras of an aircraft due to flexing of at least one aircraft wing. The method comprises determining a first distance and orientation between the first wing-mounted camera and the second wing-mounted camera during a neutral wing condition of the aircraft. The method further comprises determining a second distance and orientation between the first wing-mounted camera and the second wing-mounted camera during a flexed wing condition of the aircraft. The method also comprises processing the difference between the first and second distances and orientations to provide a real-time varying distance and orientation for use in providing a compensated distance between the first and second wing-mounted cameras.

  • Patent number: 9912074
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for forming an antenna array are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the disclosed method involves determining at least one coprime moduli set based upon a differential phase gain requirement and a differential phase range requirement for the antenna array. The method further involves producing at least one configuration for relative spacing of antenna elements of the antenna array by using at least one coprime moduli set. Also, the method involves choosing one of configurations for the antenna array to employ by evaluating a resultant gain and an unambiguous angle of arrival (AOA) for each of the configurations. Further, the method involves determining the absolute spacing of the antenna elements of the antenna array for the chosen configuration for the antenna array according to a wavelength requirement for the antenna array.
