Abstract: A waterproof cuff assembly for securement to the free end of a sleeve of an outer wear garment, such as a fishing jacket, skiing jacket, or the like. The waterproof cuff assembly comprises an outer cuff, and a tubular sock; the components are sewn together and the seams are sealed by seaming tape. A cinch strap extends laterally about the exterior of the longitudinally extending tubular sock; when tightened, in cooperation with a keeper, the strap divides the sock into two, interacting sections, namely, a cuff extension and a wristlet. The cuff extension is sewn into the free end of a sleeve, and is tucked, or folded, into the sleeve. The size of the fold, when unfurled, controls the extent of longitudinal movement of the wristlet. The cinch strap, when tightened, retains the wristlet in fixed position, and does not allow the wristlet to slide along the wrist of the user into the finger area, despite vigorous movement of the arms of the wearer of the garment.

Abstract: An outerwear garment comprises a body of water repellent material, a neck formed in the garment, and a hood secured to the neck. An opening is formed at the front of the hood so that the face of the wearer is exposed, and a resilient drawstring pulls the perimeter of the opening against the fact of the wearer. A brim projects forwardly from the hood at the upper end of the opening to protect the face of the wearer of the garment. A pocket is formed in the interior of the brim. The bill of a conventional athletic cap is inserted into the pocket when the cap is worn. Manual adjustment devices, at the rear of the hood, allow the wearer to draw the hood tightly about the head of the wearer. Resilient inserts may be secured between the hood and the neck of the garment. The hood and cap move in unison, without slipping and impairing one's field of vision when the wearer rotates or pivots his head.

Abstract: An outer garment for a variety of athletic endeavors is disclosed. The garment comprises an outer shell formed of a lightweight, waterproof material, and may include an inner liner material. The garment includes one or two front panels and a rear panel that are sewn together along seam lines that extend along the shoulders of the wearer; pleats extend downwardly from the seam lines and blend, or vanish, into the rear panel of the outer shell. The pleats are formed by a novel method employing the steps of cutting the folded fabric along a diagonal line, and then sewing the fabric together along the diagonal surfaces so that the pleat is watertight. The free ends of the overlapped fabric are then sealed by seam sealing tape. The tape extends downwardly below the seam. The resulting garment is form fitting, does not "bunch up" or gather about the torso of the wearer, and prevents moisture from gaining entry into the jacket through the pleats and seam lines between the front and rear panels of the garment.

Abstract: An outer garment suitable for a variety of athletic endeavors is disclosed. The garment comprises an outer shell formed of a lightweight, waterproof material, and an inner liner of mesh-like material secured to the shell. The liner includes a back panel, and first and second front panels. A resilient insert, yieldable in all directions, is situated in the back panel to fit against the back of the wearer. Fasteners extend laterally about the liner, and manipulation of said fasteners draws the liner snugly about the torso of the wearer, without causing "bunching" of the jacket. "Bunching" is unsightly, and also interferes with the athletic activities envisioned by the wearer.

Abstract: An athletic garment with an outer shell which is lightweight, waterproof, and porous having a "piston and cylinder" cuff arrangement to insure unrestricted movement of the arms of the wearer. A resilient insert which serves as a return mechanism is sewn between the shell and a tubing wristlet. A non-resilient gusset serves as a cylinder cuff stop mechanism. The insert and gusset cooperate to furnish the wearer with an extra five to six inches of cuff extension without having the sleeve ride-up the arm of the wearer.
