Patent number: 7748158Abstract: A box for storing fishing flies including a cover assembly having two dish-like cover portions, each having a continuous distal edge portion; and a hinge affording pivotal movement of the cover portions between an open position and a closed position with the distal edge portions of the cover portions opposed to and closely spaced from each other. A fly retaining assembly included in the box comprises a support plate that extends between the distal edge portions of the cover portions in their closed position, can be engaged by flies, can pivot relative to the hinge independent of the cover portions, and can be removed from between the cover portions when they are open. A layer of over molded sealing material provided on the support plate is in sealing engagement with the edge portions of the adjacent cover portions when they are in their closed position.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2006Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Jeffrey L. Wieringa, John E. Stark, Gary A. Albrecht, Steven R. Lambert

Patent number: 7168204Abstract: A box for storing flies used for fishing including a cover assembly having two dish-like cover portions, each of which cover portions includes a central wall part, and side wall parts around the periphery of the central wall part projecting generally in the same direction away from the central wall part and having a continuous distal edge portion; and a hinge having hinge portions attached to the side wall parts adjacent second sides of the central wall parts. The hinge affords pivotal movement of the cover portions between a closed position with the distal edge portions of the cover portions opposed to, closely spaced from, and generally aligned with each other, and an open position with the distal edge portions spaced away from and out of alignment with each other.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2004Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Jeffrey L. Publication number: 20050156425Abstract: A fastener for attachment to articles in craft applications includes a gripping space for engaging a display article in the gripping space. One example of the fastener of the present invention includes a base, a support post, at least one gusset, and a cap. The base has an upper face and a substantially flat lower face. The support post is connected to the upper face of the base, and projects therefrom. The at least one gusset is connected to the support post. The cap has an outer face and an inner face, where the inner face of the cap is connected to the support post. The cap is disposed substantially parallel to the base, and extends over a portion of the at least one gusset. The cap is spaced from the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2004Publication date: July 21, 2005Inventors: Scott Pearson, Gary Albrecht, Gerald Mueller, Joy Packard, Steven Turch, Dale Wiehe

Patent number: 5328115Abstract: A refillable tape dispenser comprising a housing including a side wall, and a hub having a longitudinal axis defining an axial direction. The hub has inner and outer surfaces, and a first end fixed to the side wall. The hub comprises first and second opposed flexible portions having distal ends remote from the side wall which flexible portions project axially from the side wall. The dispenser also includes a retaining lug at the distal end of each of the flexible portions. The retaining lugs have remote ends spaced axially from the flexible portions. Ribs are present at the distal end of each of the flexible portions. The ribs project radially outward of the flexible portions and have axially extending arcuate bearing surfaces. The dispenser of the present invention is particularly suitable for coupling to a backcard having chevron-shaped openings.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1991Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Bruce E.
