  • Patent number: 9421756
Abstract: A method for adjusting an extent of contact between a fountain roller mounted within a pivotable ink pan and an anilox roller in a flexographic printing system, the pivotable ink pan being adapted to pivot around a pivot axis disposed proximate to a first end of the pivotable ink pan. The pivotable ink pan is positioned to provide a predetermined gap between the anilox roller and the fountain roller by inserting a shim between the fountain roller and the anilox roller. The position of the pivotable ink pan is adjusted by adjusting a height of a distal portion of the pivotable ink pan by a predetermined amount that is known to close the predetermined gap to a desired extent. The position of the pivotable ink pan is then locked such that the distal portion of the pivotable ink pan is maintained at the adjusted height.

  • Patent number: 9426660
Abstract: A communication device employs a contactless secure communication interface to transmit and receive data with a computing device using close proximity extremely high frequency (EHF) communication. The communication device and the computing device periodically initiate a discovery operation mode, whereby the devices periodically transmit identifying information about the respective devices and listen for identifying information from the other device. Upon completion of the discovery mode operation, the devices enter a link-training operation mode and exchange capability information about the respective devices. During transport mode operation the communication device employs methods to manage access to data stored on the communication device by encrypting the data using one or a combination of training information or capability information as a basis for generating an encryption key.

  • Patent number: 9426495
Abstract: Techniques and tools for reducing latency in video encoding and decoding by constraining latency due to reordering of video frames, and by indicating the constraint on frame reordering latency with one or more syntax elements that accompany encoded data for the video frames. For example, a real-time communication tool with a video encoder sets a syntax element that indicates a constraint on frame reordering latency, which is consistent with inter-frame dependencies between multiple frames of a video sequence, then outputs the syntax element. A corresponding real-time communication tool with a video decoder receives the syntax element that indicates the constraint on frame reordering latency, determines the constraint on frame reordering latency based on the syntax element, and uses the constraint on frame reordering latency to determine when a reconstructed frame is ready for output (in terms of output order).

  • Patent number: 9423104
Abstract: The fixture includes an elongated back reflector along the longitudinal direction of the fixture and at least one light source mounted to a heat sink structure and arranged to emit at least a portion of light toward the back reflector. The back reflector redirects at least a portion of the light toward an exit lens which interacts with the light as it is emitted from the fixture. Both the shape of the individual fixture elements (e.g., the back reflector and the exit lens) and the arrangement of these elements provide an asymmetrical light output distribution. Various mount mechanisms may be used to attach the fixture to a surface such as a ceiling or a wall, or the fixture may be suspended from a in a pendant configuration.

  • Patent number: 9426401
Abstract: A method and device for obtaining information from a scene. A beam of photons associated with a scene is separated into a plurality of photon sub-beams. At least two photon sub-beams are optically encoded to generate at least two corresponding encoded photon sub-beams. Each encoded photon sub-beam is encoded based on a corresponding encoding function. The encoded photon sub-beams are combined to generate a combined photon beam. A detection device detects the combined photon beam to generate image data. The image data is decoded based on the plurality of encoding functions to generate a plurality of sub-images. Each sub-image corresponds to one of the at least two photon sub-beams of the plurality of photon sub-beams.

  • Patent number: 9421464
Abstract: A personal gaming system includes a home network router and a gaming host operable to request a bandwidth allocation from the home network router, the bandwidth allocation being associated with a multimedia stream between the gaming host and a client system, and provide the multimedia stream to the home network router for routing to the client system, where the multimedia stream is within the bandwidth allocation. The home network router is operable to receive the request for the bandwidth allocation from the gaming host, determine whether an available bandwidth for data traffic between the gaming host and the client system is greater than the bandwidth allocation, and if so to allocate the bandwidth allocation for data traffic between the gaming host and the client system, and provide an indication to the gaming host that the bandwidth allocation is allocated for data traffic between the gaming host and the client system.
