  • Publication number: 20150216470
Abstract: An allergy testing system comprises a skin test device having a grip portion for holding the device. One or more legs extend from the grip, and each leg is oriented to interact with a well containing a potential allergen. Each leg has a test head, and each test head has a plurality of elongated spike members. The elongated spike members have a sharp end configured to receive the potential allergen from a well and to puncture a patient's skin. In addition, each test head has at least one touch activator. The touch activator is longer than the plurality of elongated spike members, such that during an allergy test, the touch activator comes into contact with the skin prior to the elongated spike members, causing the touch activators to activate nerve tissue that blocks transmission of pain, resulting in a reduction of pain and/or discomfort during testing.

  • Publication number: 20150220346
Abstract: A computing device determines that a current software thread of a plurality of software threads having an issuing sequence does not have a first instruction waiting to be issued to a hardware thread during a clock cycle. The computing device identifies one or more alternative software threads in the issuing sequence having instructions waiting to be issued. The computing device selects, during the clock cycle by the computing device, a second instruction from a second software thread among the one or more alternative software threads in view of determining that the second instruction has no dependencies with any other instructions among the instructions waiting to be issued. Dependencies are identified by the computing device in view of the values of a chaining bit extracted from each of the instructions waiting to be issued. The computing device issues the second instruction to the hardware thread.

  • Publication number: 20150216567
Abstract: A functionally dynamic stabilization unit and system for treatment of spinal instability are provided. Each unit, and collectively, the system, is configured to control flexion, extension and translation of the affected unstable vertebral area, thereby stabilizing the vertebral segments by restoring normal function. This is achieved by providing a unit and system that allow for lateral bending, axial compression, rotation, anterior segmental height adjustment, and posterior segmental height adjustment. The unit and system provide sufficient segmental stiffness, while also limiting, or controlling, the range of motion (i.e., sufficient stiffness in the neutral or active zone, while limiting or preventing motion outside of the active zone) to stabilize the vertebral segments. In use, the system mimics the natural movement of the normal spine. Furthermore, the system includes a rigid, fusion-promoting coupler configured for use in an adjacent level, or as a substitute for the functionally dynamic unit.

  • Publication number: 20150217172
Abstract: A device is provided. The device has an arcuate guide disposed about a shoe. The guide has a start point on an inner side of the shoe, an intermediate point on a heel side of the shoe, and an end point on an outer side of the shoe. The guide is angled upward across the heel side from the inner side to the outer side with the angle in a range between about 30 degrees to about 60 degrees. The start point and end point are positioned on the shoe at a point lower than the intermediate point. The device also has an indicator moveable along the guide. The indicator is an alert to the user of the device that the user has executed proper body motions during a swing or throw, when the indicator traverses from the start point through the intermediate point to the end point. Also provided is a system and method.

  • Publication number: 20150222121
Abstract: A power system for an electrical system with highly fluctuating loads is powered by one or more power sources that are slow to react to load changes. The power sources are connected to electrical equipment used on the drill rig which provide active load to the generators. One or more load banks may be positioned to provide passive load to the generators to maintain generally constant generator load, while allowing for instant access to power as active load increases. Generators may be run at 100% capacity, a maximum efficient capacity, or at a high enough level to allow for a sufficiently rapid increase in power output. At least one parameter of a drilling operation may be utilized to anticipate load demand changes.

  • Publication number: 20150220396
Abstract: A method for writing a set of encoded data slices to memory of a dispersed storage network (DSN) begins by a processing module identifying an encoded data slice of the set of encoded data slices for a redundant write operation to produce an identified encoded data slice. The method continues with the processing module generating a set of first write requests regarding the set of encoded data slices less the identified encoded data slice and generating a set of second write requests regarding the identified encoded data slice. The method continues with the processing module sending the set of first write requests to storage units of the DSN and sending the set of second write requests to a set of storage units of the DSN, where each storage unit of the set of storage units is sent a corresponding one of the set of second write requests.

  • Publication number: 20150222589
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for resolving a uniform resource locator may include receiving, at a router, a uniform resource locator from a client information handling system within a local network of the router. The method may also include processing, by the router, the uniform resource locator to determine if the uniform resource locator includes a local domain name of a local information handling system within the local network. The method may further include resolving, by the router, a unique address associated with the uniform resource locator and the local information handling system responsive to determining that the uniform resource locator includes the local domain name of the local information handling system, wherein such resolving is performed without resort to a domain name service external to the local network.

  • Publication number: 20150220342
Abstract: A chaining bit decoder of a computer processor receives an instruction stream. The chaining bit decoder selects a group of instructions from the instruction stream. The chaining bit decoder extracts a designated bit from each instruction of the instruction stream to produce a sequence of chaining bits. The chaining bit decoder decodes the sequence of chaining bits. The chaining bit decoder identifies zero or more instruction stream dependencies among the selected group of instructions in view of the decoded sequence of chaining bits. The chaining bit decoder outputs control signals to cause one or more pipelines stages of the processor to execute the selected group of instructions in view of the identified zero or more instruction stream dependencies among the group sequence of instructions.
