Patent number: 10387571Abstract: Systems, networked devices, and methods are disclosed for suggesting a response to an incoming message. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, by a first electronic device for a first user, the incoming message from a second user, determining a present emotional state of the second user based on the incoming message, determining a target state of the second user based on the present emotional state, determining a response to the incoming message based on the target state, and writing data derived from the response to an output device. In some aspects, the method also includes identifying other users having characteristics similar to those of the second user, and selecting the response to the incoming message from responses provided to users having the similar characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2017Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: VIDICONS LLCInventors: Gary Baldwin, Eric La Mont

Publication number: 20130275530Abstract: A mobile electronic communication device includes a controller, memory, wireless transceiver, and output device supported by a housing. The controller executes a program with instructions stored in the memory and suspends execution of the program. The controller resumes execution of the program to retrieve a communication message from an online data storage service with the wireless transceiver in response to receiving a notification message with the wireless transceiver. The controller executes the program to retrieve a communication message and outputs the communication message with the output device. The mobile electronic communication device outputs messages with a reduced delay between transmission of the communication message and output of the communication message.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2013Publication date: October 17, 2013Applicant: ZIPIT WIRELESS, INC.Inventors: William Matson, Gary Baldwin, Jordan Upham, Christopher Ross Squires, Joseph Ellis

Patent number: 7639665Abstract: Disclosed is a method and associated apparatus for automatically propagating circuit information in a network. In one embodiment, a network includes multiple circuit switches that are coupled using communications links. Information relating to the communications links are automatically propagated in the network using a protocol used by routers in communicating with other routers.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2003Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Jin Huai, Anix Anbiah, Gary Baldwin

Publication number: 20080059637Abstract: Planning stage information is used for network configuration and/or control at an operation stage. A list of recommended routes (LoRR) is generated by one or more planning tools. The LoRR includes a list of routes between different endpoints, the granularity of the route (i.e., allocable bandwidth amounts), description of the type of links used by the route and list of intervening nodes, if any. The LoRR is provided to a process executing at a time of operation of the network. In a preferred embodiment, the LoRR is used by a Network Operations Center (NOC) or other centralized network control system. In other embodiments, the use of the LoRR information can be distributed such as by using the LoRR information within a router, switch or other network processor or process (i.e., operation process).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2007Publication date: March 6, 2008Applicant: CISCO TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventors: Orinan Gerstel, Gary Baldwin

Patent number: 6928484Abstract: A method for identifying and choosing a shortest path segment that has an alternate edge disjoint path segment. While routing Unidirectional Path Switched Ring (UPSR) path segments in a graph, there may be several equal distance paths to choose the shortest path from. Choosing a certain path as the shortest path may minimize or eliminate the chance of finding an alternative path segment. A method is provided such that if multiple shortest paths from the source node to a particular destination node exist, the method selects the shortest path which has an alternate edge disjoint path, and which can be used for path protection. The particular shortest path chosen by the method is not necessarily the first shortest path constructed.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2000Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Jin Huai, Gary Baldwin, Anix Anbiah

Patent number: 6293421Abstract: A beverage container with increased strength includes a generally cylindrical sidewall that is disposed around a vertical axis, and a bottom. The bottom provides a supporting surface and includes a bottom recess portion that is disposed radially inwardly of the supporting surface. The bottom recess portion includes a concave domed panel that is disposed a positional distance above the supporting surface by a dome positioning portion of this bottom recess portion. The domed panel includes a portion thereof with a curvature in the range wherein increases in the curvature decrease the static dome reversal pressure; and the dome positioning portion includes first and second parts thereof that are disposed at different radial distances from the vertical axis and that provide increases in both roll-out resistance and static dome reversal pressure.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2000Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Ball CorporationInventors: K. Reed Jentzsch, Otis H. Willoughby, Gary A. Baldwin

Patent number: 4639619Abstract: A low distortion differential sampler circuit implemented in GaAs is provided. The sampler circuit constitutes an on/off switching circuit rather than a sample and hold circuit. Elimination of the holding capacitor results in shorter switching times and reduced error. The sampler implements a differential, balanced architecture which compensates for clock signal feed through. The sampler circuit includes a three-stage, AC coupled GaAs pre-amplifier which provides a complementary clock signal to drive the sampler and sets the DC levels.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1985Date of Patent: January 27, 1987Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Gary Baldwin, Robert B.
