  • Patent number: 10106997
Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems, methods and apparatuses for removing precipitation from an exterior of a building in an expedited and automated fashion. The precipitation removal system includes one or more sweeper assemblies and one or more hoisting assemblies. The sweeper assemblies are suspended from the roof, ledge or other portion of a building. The hoisting assemblies assist the sweeper assemblies with vertically traversing the exterior of the building. As a sweeper assembly vertically traverses the side of the building, precipitation that accumulates on the exterior of the building is removed. The sweeper assemblies can remove precipitation from connecting structures on the exterior of the building which are used by building maintenance personnel to perform maintenance operations on the exterior of the building.

  • Publication number: 20080254667
Abstract: An electrical connector comprising a connector body defining a socket for receiving an electrical conductor, a fastener mounted within the socket and engaged with a thread of an internal surface of the connector body so that rotation of the fastener relative to the connector body along a longitudinal axis of the socket causes movement of the fastener between a first position in which the socket is able to receive the electrical conductor and a second position in which the fastener fastens the electrical conductor within the socket, and a drive component rotatably mounted to the connector body and configured to engage the fastener such that rotation of the drive component with respect to the connector body causes rotation movement of the fastener between the first position and the second position is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7214108
Abstract: A shearable fastener has a threaded shank adapted for engagement with a threaded bore and a head portion formed for engagement with a drive tool, the shank being formed with a series of axially separated weakenings defining a series of shear planes. The weakenings are formed such that the applied torque necessary to cause the shank to shear increases progressively from the shear plane furthest from the head portion to the shear plane nearest the head portion. The weakenings are holes, grooves or slits formed in the shank and the radius at the bottom of the holes, grooves or slits is varied to produce or contribute to the increase in shear torque.

  • Publication number: 20050071014
Abstract: A modular long bone prosthesis is provided having a proximal component and a retroversion component. The proximal component is configured at a proximal end to receive a head forming a portion of a joint and is formed at a distal end to mate with additional prosthesis components. The proximal component is formed to simulate an angle inherent in the proximal end of the bone to be replaced and includes an indicator adjacent the distal end to facilitate rotational alignment of the proximal component and additional prosthesis components. The retroversion component includes a proximal end configured to mate with the distal end of the proximal component. The proximal end includes alignment indicia for positioning relative to the indicator on the proximal component.

  • Patent number: 6708215
Abstract: A method of facilitating an outbound customer interaction involves monitoring user access activity, and automatically accumulating access data concerning such user access activity, with respect to a resource retrieved from one or more network locations (e.g., identified by URLs). The user access to the one or more network locations typically occurs via a user device coupled to a network to facilitate the access to the network locations. A trigger event is then detected based on the user access activity as reflected by the accumulated access data.

  • Publication number: 20030050884
Abstract: A business method is chartered by a defined group of competing independent buyer/obligor companies (102), to acquire or finance receivables (106) of the buyer/obligor companies (102). In cooperative consultation between the buyer/obligor companies (102) and the business entity (100), terms of receivables (106) of the buyer/obligor companies (102) are defined, to improve efficiency of financing the receivables. The buyer/obligor companies (102) agree to preferentially disclose credit information on themselves to the business entity (100). Obligee companies (104) agree to accept book entries on a computer system operated by the business entity (100) as the controlling form of financial obligations arising out of sale of goods or services (108) sold by to buyer/obligor companies. The business entity accepts custody of a majority of a class of receivables of buyer/obligor companies to creditor companies.

  • Patent number: 6402544
Abstract: An electrical connector has a connector body including a socket for an electrical conductor, the connector body having an electrically insulating shroud and having a threaded bore in which a connecting bolt is threadedly engaged. The connecting bolt is capable of actuation into engagement with a conductor inserted into the socket by providing a drive member engaged with the connecting bolt and extending through an opening in the insulating shroud to a rotatable, electrically insulating cap. The connecting bolt is slidably mounted on the drive member, the drive member being adapted to shear at a position between the opening in the insulating shroud and the point of engagement of the drive member with the connecting bolt when a predetermined torue is applied to the drive member, such that the cap and a residual portion of the drive member attached thereto can be withdrawn from the opening in the insulating shroud.

  • Patent number: 4341832
Abstract: An improved composite sheet material product having the appearance, drape, hand and water absorption and retention characteristics of natural chamois leather, comprising, in combination, a reinforcing textile fabric having opposed raised fiber faces, a soft water-absorbent porous polymeric foam layer secured to the opposed raised fibrous faces of the textile fabric, the foam layers having a normal high surface tack characteristic causing sticking and delamination of the layers from the sheet material under pressure contact, and wherein the exposed porous surfaces of the normally tacky foam layers are coated with a non-tacky water insoluble, film-forming polymer, such as a urethane polymer, to minimize tackification and delamination of the foam layers without noticeable loss in water absorption, retention, and appearance of the composite sheet material to that of natural chamois leather. Also disclosed is a method of manufacture of such composite sheet material products.
