Abstract: A pan and tilt camera is described that comprises a cylindrical base. The pan and tilt camera comprises a tubular body having a top edge, a bottom edge, and a tubular side, the tubular side of the cylindrical body being transected at an angle to define a lower body and an upper body. The lower body has a bottom edge that corresponds to the bottom edge of the tubular body and a top edge corresponding to the angle of transection. The upper body has a bottom edge that corresponds to the angle of transection and a top edge that corresponds to the top edge of the tubular body. The pan and tilt camera comprises a cylindrical housing having a bottom edge that is movably attached to the top edge of the upper body. The cylindrical housing is coupled to a camera component.

The non-metallic portion may form a non-metallic region that may extend from at least a first boundary of the metallic portion to a second boundary of the metallic portion through a central axis of the inner casing. The removable main camera unit may be configured to be removably coupled to the magnetic base based on a magnetic force between the magnetic base and the metallic portion of the inner casing.

Abstract: A data capture device that connects to a data storage device so as to share common components necessary for proper operation of both devices and to minimize the number of individual components necessary to store data obtained by the data capture device in the data storage device is provided. A method of storing data obtained by a data capture device in a data storage device is also provided. A preferred embodiment of the inventive data capture device includes the basic components of a digital camera that connects to the data storage device, which is an MP3 player. The data capture device obtains and digitizes images and transfers the binary image data to the MP3 player through a communications unit (connection) for storage in the MP3 player and for real-time display of the images on the LCD of the MP3 player.
