Abstract: Devices and techniques for status management in storage backed memory are disclosed herein. An encoded message can be received at a first interface of the memory package. Here, the memory package also includes a second interface to a host. The message can be decoded to obtain a decoded message that includes an attribute. The attribute can be compared a set of attributes that correspond to an advertised status of the memory package. The comparison enables a determination that the attribute is in the set of attributes. The advertised status of the memory package can then be modified in response to the determination that the attribute is in the set of attributes.

Abstract: Various illustrative embodiments of a system, method and related devices for coding of a medical procedure for a patient are disclosed. The disclosed subject matter seeks to improve the operational flow of hospital billing for medical procedures, including but not limited to those procedures generally performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, interventional or endovascular suite or hospital operating room such as those relating to interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, vascular surgery, pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, and biliary and central venous access devices.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating fee-based group membership is provided. The method includes the steps of receiving, from at least one designated organizer for at least one group of a plurality of groups, data representing a monetary value of a membership fee; receiving, from a first plurality of user terminals associated with a first plurality of users, a first plurality of requests to join the at least one group; registering the first plurality of users with the at least one group; receiving, from a second plurality of user terminals associated with a second plurality of users, a second plurality of requests to join the at least one group; transmitting, to the second plurality of user terminals, data configured to display payment options; and registering at least a portion of the second plurality of users with the at least one group upon payment of the fee.

Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus which can be used in first and second modes and to the manner in which the change in modes of operation can be achieved. In a first mode, the apparatus operates to receive data which is received typically from a television programme broadcast system and process the same and in the second mode the apparatus has the additional feature of a data storage device in which received data can be stored and be made available for subsequent retrieval. The data storage device can be provided as part of an assembly which can be mechanically and electrically connected to the apparatus housing and which allows the transfer of data between the assembly and the remainder of the apparatus. In one embodiment the assembly also includes cooling means which allow a cooling functionality to be provided to the apparatus.

Abstract: The invention relates to heat dissipation means for use with electrical and/or electronic apparatus to provide for the improved cooling of at least one component within the housing of the apparatus. The heat dissipation means includes a first portion located internally of the housing at or adjacent to the at least one component to be cooled and the means is formed of a material to allow the same to be passed via the first portion to an interface and onto a second portion located externally of the housing to allow the heat to be dissipated therefrom to the external environment more effectively. This allows heat to be dissipated without the need for moving heat dissipation means to be provided and avoids the noise and/or vibration which can be created.

Abstract: Metallurgical grade silicon is purified by removing metallic impurities and non-metallic impurities. The object is to produce a silicon species that is suitable for use as solar grade silicon. The process involves grinding metallurgical grade silicon containing metallic and non-metallic impurities to a silicon powder consisting of particles of silicon having a diameter of less than about 5 millimeter. While maintaining the ground silicon powder in the solid state, the ground silicon powder is heated to a temperature less than the melting point of silicon (1410° C.) under reduced pressure. The heated ground silicon powder is maintained at that temperature for a period of time sufficient to enable at least one metallic or non-metallic impurity to be removed from the metallurgical grade silicon.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sorting articles to a delivery point sequence includes at least one article sorter adapted to sort articles and a conveying system operable to arrange and convey containers of articles sorted in a first sort pass to an induct of the article sorter for a second sort pass or process of the articles. The system or method automatically sorts and conveys trays containing sorted articles from a discharge of at least one sorting assembly to an induct of the at least one sorting assembly. The conveying assembly may have a generally continuous conveying track and is operable to automatically provide the trays to the induct of the at least one sorting assembly in a sequenced manner.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sorting articles to a delivery point sequence includes at least one article sorter adapted to sort articles and a conveying system operable to arrange and convey containers of articles sorted in a first sort pass to an induct of the article sorter for a second sort pass or process of the articles. The conveying system may include at least one transport conveyor and a plurality of zone conveyors or staging zones. The transport conveyor conveys trays from the discharge of the article sorter to the induct of the article sorter, and the zone conveyors are positioned along the transport conveyor. The conveying system is operable to arrange and accumulate trays in a sequenced manner on the transport conveyor. The transport conveyor is operable to discharge the sequenced trays to the induct of the article sorter.

Abstract: A method for handling trays for use with an article sorter includes providing a conveying surface along a plurality of sorter units and conveying empty trays along the conveying surface. The empty trays that are being conveyed along the conveying surface are stopped with a tray stopping device that is positioned at least partially below the conveying surface and operable to project a portion of the tray stopping device above the conveying surface to engage and stop an empty tray. The stopped empty trays are moved from the conveying surface to the tray support areas in a direction generally transverse to the conveying surface. The empty trays are at least partially filled at the tray support areas, and the partially filled trays are moved from the tray support area onto the conveying surface.
