  • Patent number: 7070417
Abstract: A breakable connector for connecting a vehicle to a power source includes a first fitting and a second fitting coupled to one another. The first fitting includes a radially extending flange, a plurality of radially extending ribs and an electrical connector. The second fitting includes an electrical connector and a receptacle for receiving a portion of the first fitting. The flange biasedly engages a first portion of the receptacle and the ribs engage a second portion of the receptacle. The first and second fittings are separable from one another when placed under a predetermined tensile force.

  • Patent number: 7052282
Abstract: A cord set for connecting a vehicle to a power source includes a first cord having a first connector adapted to be selectively connected to the power source and a second cord having a second connector adapted to be selectively connected to the vehicle. In addition, the cord set includes a coupling mechanism that selectively couples the first cord to the second cord. The coupling mechanism includes a first fitting fixedly attached to the first cord having a plurality of projections and a second fitting fixedly attached to the second cord having a plurality of apertures for matingly receiving the projections of the first fitting. The projections engage the apertures to connect the first fitting to the second fitting under normal operation and disengage the apertures to disconnect the first fitting from the second fitting when the cord set is place under a predetermined tensile force.

  • Patent number: 6062206
Abstract: A PCV heater including a fitting having a plug and a heat sink coupled to the fitting. The fitting and the heat sink define a gas flow path having a first end and a second end. The second end of the gas flow path defines a discharge port and the heat sink is proximate to the discharge port. The heater also includes a heating element coupled to the plug and electrically connectable to a power source. The heating element thermally engages the heat sink to communicate heat from the heating element to the heat sink when the heating element is electrically connected to the power source.

  • Patent number: 6036530
Abstract: A modular tank heater apparatus including a housing defining a cavity and a receptacle that is in communication with the cavity, a heater element coupled to the housing, and a set of cords selectively connectable to the heater element to provide either a permanent or releasable electrical connection. Each of the set of cords includes a plug with a generic portion and a specific portion. The generic portion of the plugs are selectively disposable in the receptacle to engage the housing and create a first seal between the plug and the housing. Additionally, the plugs define a seal surface engageable with the housing to create a second seal between the plug and the housing. The present invention also provides a method of manufacturing the modular tank heater. Finally, the present invention includes a tank heater having a mounting assembly for selectively connecting the housing to a body in a variety of positions.

  • Patent number: 5970962
Abstract: A PCV heater including a plug and a heat sink coupled to the plug. The plug and the heat sink define a gas flow path having a first end and a second end. A method for manufacturing the PCV heater includes the steps of placing a heat sink into a mold cavity, coupling a heating element to the heat sink, electrically connecting a first lead wire and a second lead wire to the heating element, and providing a high temperature plastic to the mold cavity to overmold the heat sink and the heating element.

  • Patent number: 5334818
Abstract: A heating element for an air flow comprises a channel shaped bracket including a base and side walls at right angles thereto within which is mounted a pair of mica sheets arranged parallel to the base and at right angles to the sides and connected to the sides by ribs longitudinally of the sides with transverse slots within which the sheets slide. Each sheet is wrapped with a heating wire formed into helical coils so that each side of the sheet carries a plurality of parallel helical coil portions with connecting portions wrapped over the edges of the sheet. The sheets are symmetrical and one is inverted relative to the other. Each sheet carries at ends thereof a male and a female connector of the blade and receptacle type so that the blade of one sheet engages into the receptacle of the other sheet.
