  • Patent number: 9674737
Abstract: A system and method for rate-adaptation of a video telephony (VT) session is disclosed. In one example, there is provided a method that includes receiving a first information set indicative of a start of a handover of a device from a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) to a second RAT. The method further includes receiving a second information set indicative of an end of the handover. The method further includes adjusting a rate-adaptation protocol for the VT session based at least in part on the first and second information sets.

  • Publication number: 20160021673
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for IMS based WWAN-WLAN mobility are described. A user equipment (UE) may generate channel quality metrics and media performance metrics for a source radio access technology (RAT). The UE may then select a state for the source RAT metrics. The UE may also generate channel quality metrics for a target RAT and select a state for the target RAT. The UE may make a handover decision based on the states of the RATs and on priority levels for the RATs.
