  • Publication number: 20080084317
Abstract: Personal safety of one or more users may be enhanced through the use of RFID tags carried by the users. RFID detectors placed proximate to hazards may detect the approach of users by reading data stored on the RFID tags. Based on data including the skill levels of the users, one or more responses may be specified. User skill levels may be ascertained by identifying a user based on data from one or more RFID tags and consulting stored skill level data associated with the user; alternatively, one or more RFID tags carried by the user may include data specifying the skill level of the user. Responses can be based on multiple conditions, including data from other sensors.

  • Publication number: 20070046464
Abstract: A RFID related system and method for tracking articles that are not individually labeled with RFID tags. A transporter with an RFID reader identifies a carrier with an RFID tag as it is disposed onto the transporter. The location and/or number of the disassociated articles, once removed or otherwise disassociated with the carrier are transmitted to a computer on the transporter. Tagged carriers that continue to have articles associated therewith are removed from the transporter and placed back into storage. The computer may transmit data regarding the carrier and articles to a database.
