  • Patent number: 8951019
Abstract: A fuel forwarding skid for delivering fuel from a storage area to a plurality of turbines includes at least two pumps for delivering fuel to a skid outlet line. A flow control device is connected to the pumps to control an output of the pumps. A recirculation line is in communication with the skid outlet line and is adapted to return a portion of the fuel in the skid outlet line to the storage area. A flow meter is in communication with the recirculation line to measure a rate of flow in the recirculation line, and the flow control device controls the output of at least one of the pumps in accordance with the rate of flow in the recirculation line.

  • Patent number: 8911511
Abstract: A method and system for desalting a fuel having a salt therein is disclosed. A jet of superheated steam is provided at a selected pressure and fuel is drawn into the jet of superheated steam to form a mixture of the fuel and the superheated steam. The mixture is injected into a centrifuge to desalt the fuel.

Date of Patent: December 16, 2014
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Abhijit Gupta, John Victor Hains, Gary Cletus Mobley, Sakshi Kapoor
  • Patent number: 8677729
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention takes the form of a system that uses exhaust from the combustion turbine engine to heat the fuel gas consumed by a combustion turbine engine. The benefits of the present invention include reducing the need to use a parasitic load to heat the fuel gas.

  • Publication number: 20140080403
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a ventilation unit configured to exhaust drawn-in air from an enclosure, and a detection unit integrated with the ventilation unit and configured to detect a vapor. Embodiments are directed to a collection mechanism configured to collect liquid, a detection unit configured to sample vapor emitted from the liquid of the collection mechanism, and a ventilation unit integrated with the detection unit and configured to exhaust the vapor subsequent to the vapor having been sampled by the detection unit.
