  • Publication number: 20190161119
Abstract: A parking beacon for defining a target position for a vehicle can be configured to generate a parking location indicator for detection by a parking assist controller. The parking beacon can include a beacon control unit and a projection system. The beacon control unit can be configured to control the projection system to generate the parking location indicator.

  • Publication number: 20190161121
Abstract: A parking assist controller for parking a remote vehicle can be configured to identify a parking location indicator generated by a parking beacon. A target position for parking the remote vehicle can be determined based on the parking location indicator. A parking assist signal can be generated for parking the remote vehicle, the parking assist signal being generated based on the determination. The parking assist signal can be transmitted to the remote vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20190161084
Abstract: A controller for a vehicle can have a processor configured to determine a target route for the vehicle. At least one terrain feature can be identified along the target route. Based on the at least one terrain feature identified along the target route, the processor can estimate a traction torque for propelling the vehicle along at least a portion of the target route. Either or both a torque control signal and a steering control signal can be generated based on the estimated traction torque.

  • Publication number: 20180031196
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an illumination device (10) for use as a vehicle headlight, comprising: at least one excitation means (12) for emitting excitation light; and a fluorescing means (14) for receiving at least a portion of the excitation light and emitting illuminating light in response thereto in an illumination direction of the illumination device (10). The at least one excitation means (12) is arranged substantially perpendicular to, or forward of, the fluorescing means (14) in the illumination direction to emit excitation light toward the fluorescing means (14). The present disclosure also relates to an illumination system comprising aforesaid illumination device, a method of providing illumination or illuminating light for use as a vehicle headlight, and to a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20180029425
Abstract: A noise-reducing device for a vehicle wheel rim comprises two elements arranged to secure the device around the wheel rim. The elements are arranged to form a closed loop that is a close fit with the wheel rim so that the device is self-retaining on the wheel rim. At least one cavity is formed in one of the elements, the cavity having an opening to provide communication between the cavity and the tyre cavity. The cavity is arranged to define at least in part a chamber that acts as a Helmholtz resonator when the device is installed onto the wheel rim.
