  • Patent number: 6811338
Abstract: A disposable, semi-enclosed applicator for distributing a substance onto a target surface is disclosed. The applicator has a first side, a second side, and an internal cavity between the first and second sides. The applicator is provided with at least one opening so that the intemnal cavity is externally accessible. Further, the applicator has a ratio of absorbency of the second side to the first side of at about 1.5.

  • Publication number: 20040109720
Abstract: A disposable applicator comprising a multilayered substrate containing a fluid is presented which is useful for applying fluids, particularly cosmetic lotions or creams, to an application surface, particularly a surface of a human body. The fluid is stored in a fluid storage layer and is dispensed via a flow control layer. An impermeable layer prevents the fluid from flowing back away from the application surface.

  • Patent number: 6484514
Abstract: A temperature modifying system for heating or cooling a product including a flexible outer container containing a product and a self-enclosed temperature-changing element is disclosed. The temperature-changing element includes a flexible pouch at least partially immersed in said product. The flexible film pouch may have two components separated by a rupturable barrier that is adapted to burst under an application of pressure allowing the two components to combine or react in an exothermic or endothermic event. The flexible film pouch may alternatively include a saturated salt solution that generates as it drops out of solution.

  • Patent number: 6015045
Abstract: A package for containing hygienic articles. The package has a dispensing aperture covered by a refastenably closable flap. The flap overlaps the dispensing aperture, to minimize external contamination. The aperture is made by a cut-out, leaving an opening in the material used to form the package. A separate retaining band is added to decrease the size of the opening so that the desired overlap can be maintained independent of the cut-out used to form the opening or the flap. The package is intact as presented to the user, and may completely enclose the hygienic articles after the first use of a hygienic article.
