Publication number: 20190126307Abstract: A machine for dispensing fluid having digital codes stored in in the machine that are unique to the machine. Each code specifies a volume of fluid. The machine includes a fluid tank, dispensing unit, and control unit. The dispensing unit is configured to dispense the fluid when it is enabled. The control unit controls the dispensing, receiving a digital code from a user and verifying whether the code corresponds to a stored code. If it does, the control unit enables dispensing of the fluid. The control unit determines the volume of the fluid specified by the received code and enables the dispensing unit to dispense the fluid, but when the dispensing unit has dispensed the volume of the fluid specified by the received code, the control unit then disables the dispensing unit so that no more fluid can be dispensed until another valid code is provided to the machine.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2018Publication date: May 2, 2019Inventors: Gary D. Langeman, Harpreet Singh

Patent number: 9662859Abstract: A roll of composite edge trimming tape made by adhering masking tape to filament-bearing adhesive tape. The filament-bearing adhesive tape is made from a double-coated tape having a substrate layer and two adhesive layers. A filament is placed along the length of the masking tape in contact with one of the adhesive layers at equal distances from the edges of the tape. The tape is then folded so that the portions of the tape on either side of the filament are bonded together by the adhesive layer, and the tape surrounds the filament at one end of the filament-bearing adhesive tape. The composite edge trimming tape is formed by bringing the adhesive side of the masking tape in contact with an adhesive surface of the filament-bearing adhesive tape so one longitudinal edge of the masking tape is proximate to the portion of the filament-bearing adhesive tape containing the filament.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2015Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: LANGEMAN MANUFACTURINGInventor: Gary D. The masking tape has a substrate layer and an adhesive layer. The filament-bearing adhesive tape is made from a double-coated tape that has a substrate layer and two adhesive layers, one being on either side of the substrate layer. A filament is placed along the length of the masking tape in contact with one of the adhesive layers at the middle of the tape at equal distances from the two edges of the tape running longitudinally along the length of the tape. The tape is then folded over so that the portions of the tape on either side of the filament are bonded together by the adhesive layer, and the tape surrounds the filament at one end of the filament-bearing adhesive tape.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2015Publication date: April 28, 2016Inventor: Gary D. Publication number: 20150367593Abstract: The present invention provides a method for folding a non-uniform tape where the tape near a first longitudinal edge is thicker than the rest of the tape because of reinforcement of that first edge. In preferred embodiments, the non-uniform strip has a longitudinal strip along the top of the tape near the first edge causing its thickness to be about double that of the rest of the tape, the tape having an adhesive layer on the bottom. The method involves folding the tape along a fold line near the second longitudinal edge so that the bottom of the folded portion is adjacent and adhered to the bottom of the neighbouring portion of the tape, and the tape is then rewound into a roll.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2012Publication date: December 24, 2015Applicant: LANGEMAN MANUFACTURING LIMITEDInventor: Gary D. Patent number: 9095877Abstract: A masking tape for use in applications where a coating material is applied to a surface for defining a sharp edge of the portion of the surface that is coated. A masking tape may include a reinforcing strip releasably attached to the non-adhesive side of conventional masking tape comprising a substrate with an adhesive layer on one side. The reinforcing strip extends longitudinally along the length of the substrate with one edge substantially aligned with, and preferably flush with, one longitudinal edge of the substrate and acts as a separate means to cut through a coating or film more efficiently than the masking tape alone, while subsequently leaving the masking tape in place until the preferred time of removal.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2013Date of Patent: August 4, 2015Assignee: LANGEMAN MANUFACTURING LIMITEDInventor: Gary D. Publication number: 20080203192Abstract: A method and system are provided for injecting a color component into a plural component coating dispensing system. Base, cure and color components are pumped from respective containers at metered volume. The color component, which is preferably a low-viscosity automotive paint is injected into the either the base or cure stream at a point immediately prior to mixing all components in a dispensing device for dispensing the resulting colored fluid mixture onto a surface to be coated. The mixture may be dispensed by pouring or spraying onto the surface. The method and system are particularly useful for mixing and dispensing colored polyurethane or polyurea coatings, such as for spray-on truck bed liners.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2007Publication date: August 28, 2008Inventor: Gary D. Patent number: 7014900Abstract: The present invention provides a filament-bearing tape comprising an adhesive substrate that is releasably adhered to a surface to be coated and a filament releasably adhered to an edge of the substrate that is used to trim the applied coating. The invention further provides a method of trimming the coating comprising applying a masking material to the surface to be coated and a filament of material of sufficient tensile strength to cut the coating material, allowing the coating material to dry or cure until it obtains sufficient strength to hold a cut edge and drawing the filament through to form the cut edge. Finally, the present invention provides an apparatus for making a filament bearing tape comprising means for folding an adhesive substrate along a predefined line, applying a filament to the interior of the fold and closing said fold to retain said filament at the edge of the tape.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2004Date of Patent: March 21, 2006Inventor: Gary D.
