  • Patent number: 6062800
Abstract: A combination forklift and truck secured together to allow the forklift to be transported from one site to another by the truck. The truck has a horizontal platform with a back end and has a mounting kit secured underneath the horizontal platform. The mounting kit comprises a mounting frame, a pair of sleeves and a pair of arms slidably received within the sleeves. The arms extend upwardly and outwardly from the back end of the horizontal platform of the truck and terminate in arm ends adapted to engage two hooks secured to the frame of the forklift. When the hooks of the forklift frame are engaged with the arm ends, the forklift is in a raised supported position above the ground.

  • Patent number: 6032389
Abstract: An earth mover includes a fixed scraper blade and a moveable floor section. The moveable floor section can be pulled rearwardly to provide an opening between the fixed scraper blade and the forward edge of the floor section. The floor section is mounted on tracks which run on the exterior of the sidewalls of the bowl. The forward portion of the tracks are angled upwardly which keeps the floor tight against the bottom of the bowl. When the floor is in the open position, it allows the floor to extend downwardly below the thick scraper blade. This allows the forward edge or blade of the floor section to act as a leveler as the dirt is being unloaded from the earth mover.

  • Patent number: 5960571
Abstract: An earth mover scraper combination having chain driven elevator drive sprockets for each of two chains which are mounted on plates that include pins extending into the frame of the elevator support. Two jacks are likewise inserted into the frame of the elevator support and can be used to force the pins away from the frame support thereby forcing the sprocket away from the frame support and tensioning the chain. Preferably, the jack is a hydraulic jack that can be operated with a simple grease gun. Metal shims are then placed between the mounting bracket and the frame assembly to maintain the chain tension.

  • Patent number: 4746243
Abstract: A bomb crater repair mat is secured to intact pavement surrounding a crater with a novel anchor which secures the mat without piercing it and provides a tapered threshold which reduces jarring of aircraft and prevents the mat from being snagged by aircraft tail hooks or uplifted by jet blast. A slot is cut in the runway adjacent and parallel to the leading and trailing edges of the mat. An extruded member having a T-shaped cross-section is pressed into the slot to secure the mat. The member is retained within the slot by strips projecting from its vertically depending projection and optionally, by also injecting a hardenable filler into the slot.

  • Patent number: 4422667
Abstract: A suspension for a scraper-tractor. The tractor has an axle housing which is supported on a frame by hydraulic cylinders connected to a hydraulic circuit that includes a gas-filled accumulator to provide cushioning of the frame with respect to the axle housing. A pair of longitudinal arms are connected at one end by ball joints to the frame. At their other ends, the arms are connected by vertical pivot pins to the axle housing. A transverse track bar is connected between the frame and the housing.

  • Patent number: 4061392
Abstract: In an earth scraper tractor a rigid side-tilt roll-over protection cab having the operator's seat secured to the cab rather than to the tractor frame is mounted on the tractor frame in a manner such that, in the event of roll-over, the mounting means plastically deforms without deformation of the cab, thereby absorbing impact energy, maintaining the integrity of the cab and preventing the cab from being torn loose from the cab. The mounting means includes a pair of transverse frame members secured to the tractor frame so as to extend outboard thereof and supporting the cab from below by pin connections which serve as part of the tilting mechanism. Also forming part of the mounting means is a deformable post member rigidly connected to the cab and pin-connected at its lower end to the tractor frame.

  • Patent number: 3936203
Abstract: A pivot pin or the like is retained in an aperture in a supporting structure by a removable locking element inserted by movement transverse to the axis of the pin into a position lying between one end of the pin and a fixed flange-like retaining element which is secured to the supporting structure adjacent the aperture. In the illustrated embodiments the end of the pin is partially cut away so as to form a notch for receiving the locking element.
