    Abstract: A fan assembly has a sealing ring which rotatably fits with a similar feature on a machine casting when the fan is assembled to the machine to provide a labyrinth type seal which is maintained over a wide variation and axial gap to inhibit the flow of air bypassing the normal flow through the machine so that the fan pumps greater quantities of air through the machine for improved cooling of all elements therein.
