  • Patent number: 4964219
Abstract: A combination plumb/level device for removable attachment to a try square of magnetizable material to enable the square to be used as a level or a plumb. The device comprises a spirit level, and a holder for the level. The holder has a magnet associated therewith for magnetically gripping one face of a standard, unaltered leg of the try square with the level oriented relative to the face. The magnet associated with the holder is engageable with an edge of the standard, unaltered leg and orients the level with respect to the edge, enabling flatwise application of the other face and edges of the try square to a surface whereby the try square may be used to ascertain level or plumb positions. Other embodiments, including those directed to a device adapted for removable attachment to a try square of non-magnetizable material, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4136791
Abstract: A tiltable rear bed portion of a flat bed vehicle including a pair of slotted restraining arms disposed under and along a pair of parallel, spaced bed supporting frames. The arms are pivotally attached on their rear ends to vertical support arms suspended from the frame members on the rear bed portion and are slidably disposed through rectangular slots in a pair of vertical support arms suspended from the frame members on the horizontal forward bed portion. The restraining arms are slotted on the underside of their forward end portions to securely lock within the forward vertical support arms when the rear bed portion is in the horizontal load carrying position.

  • Patent number: 4074879
Abstract: A track circuit signalling system for an electrified rapid transit system using significantly fewer components is provided. Instead of a transmitter and receiver at each track circuit boundary, alternate boundaries have transmitters only; and the intermediate boundaries have two receivers. The coupling units for the two receivers are more economical than the prior art coupling unit for coupling the transmitter-receiver combination. The transmitters on each side of a receiver pair transmit signals on different carrier frequencies. Each transmitter transmits in both directions from its location. Of the two receivers at a given boundary, one is tuned to respond to signals from the transmitter on one side, while the other receiver of the pair is tuned to respond to signals from the transmitter on the other side. For special applications using overlapping track circuits, selected transmitters may be omitted and a single receiver used on each side of the omitted transmitter.
