  • Patent number: 8757051
Abstract: A food preparation device for crimping and sealing pieces of bread includes a base, at least one first heating unit positioned on the base, and at least one second heating unit spaced from the base and extending substantially parallel to the first heating unit. The second heating unit is movable from a first position spaced a first distance from the first heating unit to a second position spaced a second, shorter distance from the first heating unit for crimping and sealing bread pieces together between the first and second heating units. The first and second heating units remain parallel with one another while the second heating unit moves from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 5865075
Abstract: A plier tool which is convertible between a type wherein the jaws spread apart when the handles are squeezed and a type wherein the jaws close when the handles are squeezed. A pair of apertures, one for each type, is provided in one of the plier levers. The pivot assembly is insertable in and removable from each of the apertures for making the conversion.

  • Patent number: 5351580
Abstract: An electrically heated thermal wire stripping hand tool device is provided which uses electrically heated ceramic blades or jaws having severing edges to remove insulation from electrical wire. The tool includes a pair of arms hingedly connected which removably mount stripping jaws thereon at their distal ends. Each jaw has an insulation severing edge which when heated will melt or otherwise degrade the insulation on the wire when it coacts with the severing edge on the mating jaw. Electrically heated wires and circuitry are provided which heat the severing edges of the jaw. Contacts are provided which removably secure each jaw to one of the arms to provide electrical power thereto. The jaws and contacts are also provided with alignment devices which coact with each other when the jaws are mounted on the arms to provide alignment in both the x and y axes of the plane on which the jaws mate for severing insulation.

  • Patent number: 5341964
Abstract: A dispensing device includes a frame designed to receive and support a cartridge containing a viscous product. The dispensing device has a plunger with a plunger shaft and plate for dispensing the viscous product from the cartridge, and a drive assembly with a handle and a trigger for advancing the plunger. The frame of the dispensing device has a front yoke to receive and align the nozzle at one end of the cartridge, and sidewalls defining an aperture designed to receive the cartridge and support the body of the cartridge. A cartridge biasing assembly integral with the frame biases the cartridge toward the front yoke of the frame. The cartridge biasing assembly includes a biasing plate and a spring at least partially surrounded by a shroud. The cartridge is received within an entrance opening in the shroud and is spring-biased forwardly in the dispensing device by the biasing plate to prevent the cartridge from becoming misaligned.

  • Patent number: 5291914
Abstract: A fluid recovery tool for forming an opening in a pipe, tube, or other fluid-carrying conduit includes a pair of pliers having two handle portions pivotally attached and moveable with respect to each other. Each handle portion of the pliers terminates in a jaw portion, and the jaw portions are located in opposed moveable relation to one another. A piercing valve assembly is removably mounted to the pair of pliers for penetrating the pipe. The piercing valve assembly includes a pair of housing members pivotally attached to each other. One of the pair of housing members receives one of the jaw portions and is removably mounted thereto, while the other of the pair of housing members receives the other of the jaw portions and is removably mounted thereto. The piercing valve assembly further includes a piercing element mounted in the upper housing member for piercing the pipe, and a conduit for fluidly connecting the piercing element with a remote storage container or vessel.

  • Patent number: 4859272
Abstract: A segmental drum (10) has spaced-apart inflatable turnup bladders (24) for folding each edge (28) of a belt (30) applied to the drum (10). The spacing of the bladders (24) is adjustable by axial movement in opposite directions of central hub assemblies (42,44) threaded on screws (76). Fine adjustment of the spacing to straigten the fold line (32) of each bladder (24) is provided by axial adjustment of rigid polyurethane bladder support brackets (18) connected to the central hub assemblies (42,44). Radial expansion of the segments (16) is provided by links (84) between each of the segments (16) and spaced drum expanding hub assemblies (86,88) threaded on a drum control screw (96). A molded central filler block (62) of rigid polyurethane is mounted on each segment (16) to fill the space between the bladder support brackets (18).
