  • Publication number: 20190284272
Abstract: A monoclonal antibody, or antigen-binding portion thereof is provided that specifically binds to a region on a mammalian IL-31 protein involved with interaction of the IL-31 protein with its co-receptor, wherein the binding of said antibody to said region is impacted by mutations in a 15H05 epitope binding region selected from: a region between about amino acid residues 124 and 135 of a feline IL-31 sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 157 (Feline_IL31_wildtype); a region between about amino acid residues 124 and 135 of a canine IL-31 sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 155 (Canine_IL31); and a region between about amino acid residues 118 and 129 of an equine IL-31 sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 165 (Equine_IL31). Such antibodies can be in the form of veterinary compositions useful for treating IL-31-mediated disorders in cats, dogs, or horses.

  • Patent number: 10277612
Abstract: An edge device is dynamically reconfigured to block undesired traffic using control information that originates in a core network. The control information is delivered to the device indirectly and, in particular, by a core appliance (e.g., an intrusion prevention system) setting and returning an HTTP cookie to a requesting client. The edge device is pre-configured to respond to HTTP cookies that have (or that are) control information. When the receiving client later returns that cookie to the edge device to obtain subsequent service, the control information that originated at the core is used by the device to deny that service. This indirect method of communicating the control information (from the core to the requesting client and then back to the device) enables the device to be reconfigured dynamically as needed to address network exploits or other threats.

  • Patent number: 9808704
Abstract: A human transportation device in the form of a variable length skateboard. The variable length skateboard provides a short embodiment allowing the rider greater handling and stopping ability and a long embodiment providing the rider with increased speed ability. The long and short embodiments can quickly and easily be transitioned between at any time or place by the insertion or extraction of at least one removable center deck section. The deck sections are coupled using thumb screw type fasteners and coupler plates thereby removing a need for tools to make the conversion between embodiments. The variable length skateboard provides its owner with multiple embodiments without having to purchase multiple skateboards.

  • Patent number: 9707709
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of injection molding at low, substantially constant melt pressures. Embodiments of the disclosed method now make possible a method of injection molding that is more energy—and cost—effective than conventional high-velocity injection molding processes. Embodiments of the disclosed method surprisingly allow for the filling of a mold cavity at low melt pressure without undesirable premature hardening of the thermoplastic material in the mold cavity and without the need for maintaining a constant temperature or heated mold cavity. Heretofore, it would not have been expected that a constant pressure method could be performed at low pressure without such premature hardening of the thermoplastic material when using an unheated mold cavity or cooled mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 9326538
Abstract: A chewy and intermediate moisture bar is provided that uses a dairy-based binder generally without the need to employ gums, humectants, and sugar syrups as a binder to achieve the moist and chewy texture. In one aspect, the bar includes a dry base uniformly blended with a dairy-based binder that uses high levels of dairy proteins as the main binding component. A method of forming the chewy and intermediate moisture bar is also provided that may use a lay or delay period to allow moisture equilibration or migration from the binder to the dry base.

  • Publication number: 20160000097
Abstract: Methods of imparting resistance to mold to a food product during extended storage at refrigerated temperatures by topically applying a live yeast and fermented aqueous sugar and ethanol solution to a surface of the food product are provided. The live yeast and fermented aqueous sugar and ethanol solution contains about 1% to about 5% live yeast, about 5% to about 40% sugar, and about 5% to about 20% ethanol and is applied in an amount of about 0.5 to about 2 ml per about 80 to about 100 grams of food product. The live yeast converts ethanol into acetaldehyde at a rate which imparts mold resistance to the food product for up to 6 months at refrigerated temperatures.
