  • Patent number: 11020610
Abstract: Disclosed is a positioning device for use in a compound portable phototherapy device to contain and enhance therapeutic treatment to a subject. The positioning device comprises an inner surface composed of a non-porous, light reflective material, as well as an outer surface that may be opaque. Use of the positioning device in conjunction with a phototherapy device secures advantages of increased incident light directed on a subject and a controlled thermal environment for the subject. The positioning device may be portable and may be pliable, capable of being rolled or compressed. The positioning device may optionally include a visor, venting, and stabilizing cushioning. The positioning device may optionally include a thermal regulation element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2016
Date of Patent: June 1, 2021
    Assignee: LITTLE SPARROWS TECHNOLOGIES INC.
    Inventors: Donna Brezinski, Gary Gilbert

  • Publication number: 20070249734
Abstract: A method, composition and kit for detecting the presence of a phospholipid, such as phosphatidylserine, on a cell membrane is provided. A binding agent including lactadherin, a fragment of lactadherin, a functional equivalent of lactadherin, or a functional equivalent of a fragment of lactadherin, is used to detect the presence of any phospholipid.

  • Publication number: 20070019391
Abstract: Electronic equipment housed in a cabinet is cooled using air that flows from one of a right side and a left side of the electronic equipment to the other one of the right side and the left side of the electronic equipment. The air is cooled using a heat exchanger that uses water or a refrigerant supplied to the cabinet. One or more components of the electronic equipment may be accessed via a front or back door of the cabinet without disrupting the cooling air flow in other components of the electronic equipment.

  • Publication number: 20070016650
Abstract: Systems and methods for collaborative authorship of content for a distributed delivery system are provided. The system comprises a server configured to store and regulate access to one or more course materials developed by one or more authors, wherein the one or more course materials comprise information to be taught to a student. The system further comprises one or more client computer systems configured to communicate with said server, each of the one or more client computer systems comprising a display configured to show a hierarchy of course materials, a messaging module configured to send and receive content-related event messages to and from the server, and a user interface module configured to update the display in accordance with content-related events. The server is configured to send event messages to the one or more client computer systems. In some embodiments, the one or more client computer systems are configured to synchronize content with the server.

  • Publication number: 20060074635
Abstract: Systems and methods to indicate whether to store a database query language module in a local directory or a global directory are disclosed. An application program can be created once, tested once, and deployed in separate environments. The database query language modules can be shared among a group of application programs running in a common environment. Separate query language modules can be maintained for each environment.

  • Publication number: 20050213125
Abstract: The color accentuation method determines the relative magnitude of each color component in each pixel or area. It selects and adjusts the magnitude of one or more of the colors as a function of the determined relative magnitudes of each color component. The type and amount of the adjustment is a function of the relative magnitude differences. One or more of the magnitudes is adjusted to change the relative magnitudes. Typically, the difference in a subtractive color space is between the lowest and middle magnitude color and in an additive color space is between the highest and the middle magnitude color. Also, typically, the lowest color component is reduced in the subtractive color space and the highest is increased in the additive color space. Various scaling functions and compensations or adjustments of the color accentuation may be used.

  • Patent number: 4838141
Abstract: A pipe bag is constructed from a flexible composite material which is airtight but readily permits the transmission of moisture vapor. At least one layer of the flexible composite material is a continuous hydrophilic layer. When a moisture vapor concentration gradient is present across said hydrophilic layer it transfers substantial amounts of water throug the layer by absorbing water on the side of the layer at which the higher water vapor concentration exists, and desorbing water on the opposite side of the layer at which the water vapor concentration is lower. As a result of this the moisture concentration within the bag is regulated.
