    Abstract: A medical connector for connecting medical tubing to a catheter includes a connector body and a height compensating foot. The connector body has a catheter leg adapted to connect to the catheter, a medical tubing leg adapted to connect to the medical tubing, and an angular bend intermediate the legs. The height compensating foot is attached to the catheter leg and extends outwardly therefrom at an angle to prevent the connector from rocking and tubing from overhanging a patient's knuckles when connected to the catheter inserted in a patient.

    Abstract: A waste container for receiving thrown up stomach contents from a patient is disclosed. The container includes an elongated moisture proof bag having an open end, and a rigid ring integrally connected to the bag open end. At least one sinuous recess is disposed within the ring. The recess is sized to receive a throttled portion of the bag therein. The recess has a contour, which restricts the throttled portion of the bag from slipping out of the recess in a use position.

    Abstract: A medical tubing anchor includes a flexible anchor member and a base support having an adhesive side and a non-adhesive side. The flexible anchor member is a generally elongated rectangular solid having two elongated sides, two ends, a base, and a top. The anchor base of the anchor member is mounted on the base support non-adhesive side. The anchor member includes a plurality of stations defined by passageways transversing the anchor member and extending from the anchor member top towards the anchor member base. At least one tube holder having a generally cylindrical cross-section is located along the passageway in each of the stations for receiving medical tubing. The tube holders extend from one elongated side of the anchor member to the other elongated side. A keeper on the anchor member keeps medical tubing disposed in the stations from inadvertent release.

    Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a pair of elongated members joined together by a box hinge. The box hinge is formed of a slot in the first member having substantially flat, generally parallel sides and a hinge portion in the second member. The hinge portion of the second member conforms to the generally flat surfaces of the slot and is generally the same width as that of the second member on either side of the box hinge. The width of the first elongated member is larger than the width of the second elongated member at either end of the box hinge portion. The transitional slope of the side surfaces of the second elongated member is nearly flat between the box hinge portion, the handle end portion, and the working tip portion. The unique construction of the box hinge creates a snag-free surface that allows for the use of the instrument for tasks such as suturing without the suturing thread snagging on the instrument.
