  • Publication number: 20070194263
Abstract: A valve arrangement includes a valve body defining an enclosure, having a bonnet connected to the valve body. A stem is rotatably attached to the valve body and positioned at least partially within the valve body. A handle is in operable communication with the stem and configured to rotate the stem. An actuation portion is positioned distal from the handle and in direct or indirect contact with the stem, wherein the actuation portion is configured to move when the stem is rotated. The stem includes a first thread portion and a second thread portion, the first thread portion having a first thread pitch and configured to interact with and move the actuation portion. The second thread portion is in communication with the bonnet having a second thread pitch and configured to move the stem with respect to the body. The second thread pitch is smaller than the first thread pitch.

  • Patent number: 6791788
Abstract: A segmented power strip for supplying electrical power to a robotic device for use in a data storage system, the robotic device adapted to move along a guide rail. The power strip includes first and second substantially planar members each having an end and a conductor for making electrical contact with the robotic device. The first and second members are assembled to create a joint where the conductor of the first member is proximate the conductor of the second member such that the robotic device maintains electrical contact with at least one conductor as the robotic device traverses the joint. The ends of the first and second members are adapted to cooperate such that at least one of the first and second members moves laterally relative to the other during assembly thereof. At least one of the first and second members is biased against lateral motion relative to other.

  • Patent number: 6722284
Abstract: A steering mechanism for a track-mounted robot is provided. The steering mechanism comprises guide wheels, which are fixed to yokes that pivot around secondary drive wheels. The pivot action of the yokes allows the guide wheels to maintain full contact with the track and steer as the robot traverses straight and curved portions of the track. Linkage components attach the yokes to a cam follower which follows a cam surface in the track in order to force the proper angle of steering for the guide wheels.

  • Patent number: 6496642
Abstract: An optical fiber cable routing guide for bending an optical fiber cable while protecting the optical fiber cable from sharp bends that could cause optical fiber damage or degradation of signal transmission. The cable routing guide is made in the form of an elongated curved channel to receive and bend an optical fiber cable and the enclosing strain relief boot at an optical fiber cable connector. One end of the elongated curved channel is shaped to make abutting contact with the cable connector and has protruding studs shaped to prevent rotation of the cable routing guide relative to the cable connector. The cable routing guide is easily installed without the need for tools and provides compact installation and routing of optical fiber cables within an enclosure.
