  • Publication number: 20080202956
Abstract: A metal lid for a tobacco can is provided. The metal lid includes a circular lid top having a central recess and a shoulder. The shoulder extends radially outwardly from and vertically above the central recess. The side wall is unitarily formed with the shoulder, depends downwardly from the shoulder, and is disposed below the central recess of the lid top. The side wall includes a bead and a hem. The bead extends circumferentially around the side wall. The hem is formed from a distal portion of the side wall folded over onto an intermediate portion of the side wall. The hem functions as a guide, forms a safety edge, and permits the lid to be more easily grasped by a consumer.

  • Publication number: 20070214003
Abstract: A medication management system (MMS) includes a medication management unit (MMU) associated with a medical device. The MMU downloads a medication order to the medical device only if information from a first input matches information from a second input. The medical, device receives delivery information only from the MMU. The medication order is performed only after delivery data validation. The MMU also determines drug-drug incompatibility. The MMU can modulate (start, stop, and dynamically adjust) medication order performance. The medical device wirelessly receives a patient ID to automatically associate with the patient. During delivery, the medical device caches an updated drug library to replace an existing one. The medical device displays a patient picture for validation. The MMU evaluates the performance of medical devices and caregivers based medical device feedback. The MMU adjusts the output of medical device information conveyed to a caregiver.

  • Publication number: 20070213598
Abstract: A system for maintaining drug information and communicating with medication delivery devices includes software designed for use in a hospital, pharmacy or biomedical technical service environments. The software may be provided on a computer readable medium. The software allows a facility to customize a drug library with both hard and soft drug limits and other parameters for use with an infuser having a plug and play module removably inserted into a slot within a housing, or for use with an infuser having a connectivity engine enclosed within the housing. The system supports data transfer to one or more infusers connected to one or more computers. The connection between the computer and the pump can be hard wired or wireless.

  • Publication number: 20070194518
Abstract: A plunger moves from a retracted position to an extended position to engage a document which is on a receiving platform to push the document through an opening in the receiving platform and towards a stacking platform to stack the document on the stacking platform. The plunger moves from the extended position back to the retracted position to allow a biasing force which is acting on the stacking platform to press the document which has just been stacked on the stacking platform against the receiving platform.

  • Patent number: 7030770
Abstract: There is provided a hydrogen storage system having one or more hydrogen storage containers disposed in a confined area with a vent line extending from the one or more storage containers to a location outside of the confined area. One or more sensors are disposed in the confined area for detecting one or more pre-determined unsafe conditions relating to the storage of hydrogen in the contained area and at least one actuator is provided for actuating an operable valve of the vent line to release the hydrogen from the hydrogen storage container to a location outside the confined area at a pre-determined release rate in response to a signal from the sensor indicating an unsafe condition. A power system incorporating a hydrogen storage system as described above is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050205083
Abstract: A multiple dose delivery device for delivering a medicament into an oral cavity of a patient is provided. The device includes a sachet pack including a plurality of unit doses of a medicament enclosed between a first strip and a second strip. The device further includes a sachet advance mechanism and a mouthpiece. Upon actuation by a user, the sachet advance mechanism, which is engaged with the sachet pack, separates the first strip from the second strip to release one of the plurality of the unit doses from the sachet pack. The mouthpiece includes an opening, and each released unit dose passes through the opening.

  • Patent number: 6647379
Abstract: A computer product for analyzing data representative of account usage, the computer product disposed on a computer readable medium and including instructions for causing a processor to provide a data classifier the data representative of account usage, wherein the data classifier produces in response to the data representative of account usage, classification outputs, provide to a rule inducer input data based on the data representative of account usage and the classification outputs, wherein the rule inducer produces rules descriptive of relationships between the data representative of account usage and the classification outputs. The data classifier can include a neural network and a Bayesian classifier. The input data based on the data representative of account usage can include a combination of the data representative of account usage and the classification outputs.

  • Patent number: 6560215
Abstract: A method for updating a timing offset for stored events scheduled in an event generator in a radio communication system including at least one base station and a mobile device includes a first step of measuring a change in a previously stored timing offset between a reference clock in the mobile device and a channel clock transmitted by the at least one base station. A second step includes adding the timing change to the previously stored timing offset in the timing offset register. A third step includes updating the timing offset in the event generator without interrupting execution of the stored events, such that synchronization is reacquired between the mobile unit and the base station. As a result, timing offset updating occurs without stopping or resetting the event generator.

  • Patent number: 6519613
Abstract: A method and apparatus for online reorganization of a database which does not prevent a process from accessing the database during the data reorganization. The invention uses a non-blocking drain to lock on a database, unloads a copy of the data contained in the database, reorganizes the copied data, loads the reorganized data into a shadow location, applies log records to the shadow location data so that the reorganized data may be adjusted for any changes to the database after the data was copied and reorganized, and then replaces the data in the database with the reorganized data. The non-blocking drain does not prevent other requests on the database from being processed while the reorganization lock is in place, except briefly when the reorganized data replaces the data in the database.

  • Publication number: 20020143743
Abstract: An in-place reorganization of a database achieves reasonably accurate results for users during high-throughput concurrent usage of the database. The reorganization's movement of records across a user transaction's position within a scan of the database is tracked.
