  • Publication number: 20090230052
Abstract: A filter material for a filter system and method of filtering a fluid are disclosed. The filter system may include a filter material capable of capturing hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from a fluid, where the filter material is disposed between a first and second filter media.

  • Publication number: 20070294987
Abstract: A filtration apparatus for separating particulate and liquid impurities, such as dust, liquid or oil, from a natural gas. The filtration apparatus has a horizontally oriented filter enclosure with a plurality of filter elements which are not in parallel with the long axis of the enclosure, thus enabling filtered particles to fall out of the filter elements into a collection sump for later removal. A dividing plate, upon which the filter elements are mounted, is angled slightly out of level for the purpose of guiding the filtered particulate and liquid impurities to a collection sump. The gas flowing into the enclosure undergoes a rapid expansion, which serves to remove larger particles and liquids entrained in the gas. The gas is further “pre-filtered” by forcing it through a tortuous path of abrupt changes in direction prior to encountering the filter elements.

  • Patent number: 7294160
Abstract: The present invention comprises concerns a novel air cleaner having an inner mesh barrier. This inner mesh barrier has a plurality of openings, and is generally cylindrical, having an inner mesh barrier liner surface, and an inner mesh barrier outer surface. Furthermore, the air filter has an upper retaining segment and a lower retaining segment, and a filtration means. Furthermore, the lower retaining segment of the air filter has an outer surface having an integral coupling means protruding outward there from. The integral coupling means of the present invention is generally molded from the same material as the lower segment of the air filter. Furthermore, the integral coupling means has an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein said outer surface of said integral coupling means has a plurality of threads for thereby attaching the air filter to a suitable device.

The filtration apparatus has a horizontally oriented enclosure with a plurality of filter elements which are not in parallel with the long axis of the enclosure, thus enabling filtered particles to fall out of the filter elements into a collection sump for later removal. To facilitate filtrate collection, the dividing plate, upon which the filter elements are mounted, is angled slightly out of level for the purpose of guiding the filtered particulate and liquid impurities to a collection sump. The inlet and outlet nozzles are located at the ends of the enclosure and are in line with its long axis. Through these nozzles, the gas flowing into the enclosure undergoes a rapid expansion, which serves to remove larger particles and liquids entrained in the gas.

  • Publication number: 20060151368
Abstract: A multi-stage particulate filter, wherein the first stage of filtration comprises a coarse filter to remove the larger impurities. The second stage will remove the finer impurities from the liquid (oil) that have passed through the first stage (coarse filter). The first and second stage filter shall reside within a single housing. The housing will have both an inlet port for receiving the unfiltered fluid (oil) and an discharge port for passing the filtered fluid (oil) back into the system. The first stage, or coarse filter element has an opening adjacent the inlet, such that fluid entering through the inlet will first pass through the coarse filter element.
