  • Patent number: 11500457
Abstract: A display system includes an interface unit, a head worn display in wireless communication with the interface unit, and a first tracker sensor remote from a head of a user and configured to wirelessly sense a head pose and provide first head tracking data to the interface unit. The interface unit is remote from the head worn display. The display system also includes a second tracker sensor associated with the head of the user and configured to provide second head tracking data associated with the head pose to the head worn display. The interface unit is configured to receive the second head tracking data from the head worn display via at least one wireless link and provide video information for display on the head worn display via the at least one wireless link.

  • Patent number: 10775881
Abstract: A computer system with one or more cameras monitors the head poses produced by a head-tracking system and produces a pass/fail indication that the head poses are reliable in a high assurance environment. The system may identify individual fiducials and independently verifying that they conform to the computed pose; and/or compute a location of fiducials as would be observed by a single verification camera and compare the computed locations to actual observed locations. The verification camera may be part of a second head-tracking system, utilized while not operating in its ordinary capacity. The computer system may also calibrate the head-tracking system to account for temperature and pressure fluctuations and perform image stabilization before the image frames are passed to the head-tracking system for processing by observing separate fiducials in fixed locations relative to the camera.

  • Patent number: 8788126
Abstract: A present novel and non-trivial system, device, and method for generating object symbology are disclosed. A system may be comprised one or more aircraft systems and a cockpit display system comprised of a system configuration file, a plurality of definition files, and a windows generator (“WG”). The WG may be configured to perform initialization and run-time operations. The initialization operation may be comprised of retrieving a system configuration file; retrieving a first definition file comprised of a first layer; and retrieving one or more second definition files comprised of one or more second layers. The run-time operation may be comprised of receiving a first-layer widget data set; receiving one or more second-layer widget data sets; determining the screen position of each object located within a view frustum; and generating a pixel data set in response to the determination.

  • Patent number: 7961117
Abstract: The embodiments disclosed herein present novel and non-trivial system, module, and method for creating a variable FOV image presented on a HUD combiner unit. A processor receives navigation system data and data associated with eye position. A variable FOV image data set representative of navigation symbology is generated, where the image data set is determined by applying the navigation system and eye position data to an adaptive FOV function, where the function correlates eye position to an FOV image. The image data set is presented to a HUD system where an image represented in the image data set is displayed on a combiner unit, whereby the image FOV correlates to eye position. Furthermore, the processor may receive terrain data and generate a variable FOV image data set inclusive of data representative of a three-dimensional perspective scene outside an aircraft.
