  • Patent number: 6562106
Abstract: A treatment device is attached to a sealed container to provide clean replacement atmosphere to maintain the purity and cleanliness of the uncontaminated liquid remaining in the container. The device includes a valving system arranged to control flow of atmosphere into and out of the container, and includes a bubbler filled with treatment liquid, such as a disinfectant or purifying agent. Filtered air is bubbled through the treatment liquid prior to feeding the replacement atmosphere into the sealed container. In one embodiment, a floating valve assists in preventing undesired suction of the treatment liquid into the container. In another embodiment, the treatment device is attached to exhaust atmosphere to keep an ambient area clean as new liquid is added to the container and harmful atmosphere is exhausted. Methods related to the above are also defined and claimed.

  • Patent number: 5328059
Abstract: A sealed bottled water dispenser for using an inverted water supply bottle which has a sealing cap which, when pierced, causes water to flow into a sealed water conduit. A source of filtered air is connected to said water conduit to supply cleaned air to said water supply bottle. A check valve is placed in the water conduit to prevent unfiltered air from entering the water supply bottle through the water conduit. A check valve can be used in the water conduit to prevent water from reaching the air filter after the water supply bottle is delivering water. The latter check valve also prevents water from exiting the water bottle through the air filter, if an air leak is present in the water supply bottle. A cover is provided for sealing the water dispenser when a water bottle is not in place. The insertion of an inverted water bottle into the dispenser causes said cover to open to allow water to flow directly from the water supply bottle into the water conduit without flowing into a reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5240043
Abstract: A system for the delivery and storage of bulk quantities of high quality water. The system includes a tank truck having air filters to preclude the entry of noxious materials into the bulk water hauling tanks. A delivery valve and a receiving valve are provided for the substantially air-free transfer of water from the bulk water hauling tank to a storage tank from which water can be supplied to the user. Water storage systems are provided including check valves to protect the quality of the water and the amount of residual water remaining in the storage tank. A pressurized water storage system is provided using a harmless gas and a floating check valve to contain the gas as water is drained from the storage system.

  • Patent number: 5213597
Abstract: An air filter assembly for a water supply bottle used with a bottle water dispenser. The air filter has a tubular member for attachment to the neck of the water bottle. A breather tube is attached to the side of the tubular member and an air filter is attached to the breather tube. When the water bottle is inverted into a reservoir in a bottled water dispenser, the water drains from the supply bottle until the end of the tubular member is immersed in the water and the partial vacuum in the supply bottle prevents any further water flow. The water in the reservoir can rise and submerge the breather tube connection point to the tubular member. When the water in the reservoir drops below the connection point air will pass through the filter into the bottle to release more water. A check valve can be used in the breather tube to prevent the entry of air into the water supply bottle if the air filter on the breather tube is removed.
