  • Patent number: 5853743
Abstract: A light duty liquid detergent with desirable cleansing properties and mildness to the human skin comprising: at least one sulfonate surfactant, an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a C.sub.8-18 ethoxylated alkyl ether sulfate anionic surfactant, a betaine surfactant, an alkyl polyglucoside surfactant, an ethoxylated alkyl C.sub.12 -C.sub.14 monoalkanol amide, optionally, C.sub.12 -C.sub.14 monoalkanol amide and water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 5, 1997
Date of Patent: December 29, 1998
    Assignee: Colgate Palmolive Company
Inventors: Joan E. Gambogi, Gary J. Jakubicki, Leonard A. Zyzyck
  • Patent number: 5565146
Abstract: An aqueous liquid detergent composition for handwashing soiled dishware includes specific narrow classes and amounts of magnesium or sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate surfactant, alkyl ether sulfate surfactant, C.sub.12 -C.sub.16 alkyl polyglucoside and alkanolamide foam stabilizer. A higher alkyl sulfosuccinate or sulfosuccinate, optionally ethoxylated, anionic surfactant may also be present. The compositions are capable of generating a stable foam and are effective in cleaning greasy soils with acceptable mildness for the consumer and with good rinseability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 18, 1992
Date of Patent: October 15, 1996
    Assignee: Cologate-Palmolive Co.
Inventors: Gary J. Jakubicki, Gregory D. Riska, Alp J. Uray, Cuong Nguyen
  • Patent number: 5382386
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a concentrated liquid detergent composition containing over 40% solid ingredients including magnesium alkylbenzene sulfonate and an alkanolamide component, offers reduction in viscosity during manufacture and upon cooling of the composition. The addition of salts and hydrotropes to the concentrated liquid detergent composition and the incorporation of alkanolamide prior to the addition of alkylbenzene sulfonic acid sufficiently lowers the viscosity of the mixture to allow processing under conventional mixing conditions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 17, 1993
Date of Patent: January 17, 1995
    Assignee: Colgate Palmolive Co.
Inventors: Gary J. Jakubicki, Carl R. Schwarz, Alp J. Uray
  • Patent number: 4855067
Abstract: A non-scratching household cleaning composition containing as a major ingredient poly[alpha-methylstyrene-styrene-acrylonitrile] commercially available as "BLENDEX 586". This ingredient is blended with a conventional surfactant and builder. The system can also contain a solvent or bleach system. The BLENDEX 586 component is present as finely divided particles having a size range of about 44-to-420 microns.
