Patent number: 8726539Abstract: A gas heater with specialized controls allows an operator to deploy a single device to heat and to dry when extracting moisture from a structure. The heater has a fan in a blow thru arrangement ahead of a burner. The burner uses either natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas. The heater has air flow, fan motor, temperature, and ignition controls and sensors. The heater delivers high temperature air to the structure that hastens evaporation as the heated air absorbs great concentrations of water vapor. Then the moisture laden heated air exits the building as the heater draws in fresh air, ducts it into a structure, and pressurizes the structure. This moisture laden air then leaks from the building through select windows using the energy imparted from the fan and then exhausts the moisture to the atmosphere, drying the structure.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2012Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Cambridge Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Gary J. Potter, Marc Braun, Jeffrey A. Kieffer

Patent number: 7568908Abstract: A direct gas-fired industrial air heater low fire start control, includes circuitry for simulating a resistant circuit which bypasses the discharge temperature sensors, the remote temperature selector, and a space temperature controls, that has the effect of driving the modulating valve to a fixed open setting which in turn changes the valve voltage in order to obtain desired gas flow. In a further embodiment, an isolated DC voltage source which normally bypasses the voltage input to the system of the modulating valve can be inserted into the circuitry to effectively drive the modulating valve to a fixed open setting to obtain the desired gas flow rate. Various circuitry, and bypass gas flow arrangements, are further shown to increase the efficiency of ignition of the burner assembly, when started.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2002Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: Cambridge Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Gary J. Patent number: 7311252Abstract: Systems predict the availability of travel resources and select an appropriate data source for obtaining travel resource inventory availability information by analyzing historical travel resource availability data. Such systems receive customer travel requests and determine candidate itineraries. The candidate itineraries are used to determine the probability that the candidate itineraries will remain available for certain periods of time based on historical availability information and fare rules. Such systems increase the reliability of booking travel itineraries by determining when it is necessary to obtain updated availability information. The systems make this determination by looking up candidate itineraries in a situation table calculated from historical availability information.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2005Date of Patent: December 25, 2007Assignee: Sabre, Inc.Inventors: Russell L. Strothmann, Gary J. Potter, Stanislav Brezina

Publication number: 20020147767Abstract: Methods and systems consistent with the present invention allow access to inventory data stored in communication devices at remote locations on a network. The communication devices monitor the network for a real-time notification of a change in inventory data associated with another communication device. When the monitoring communication device detects a change in the inventory status from another communication device on the network, the monitoring communication device performs an inventory analysis. After completing the inventory analysis, a user operating the monitoring communication device decides whether an update in marketing strategy for an item should be implemented to maintain profitability.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2001Publication date: October 10, 2002Applicant: Sabre Inc.Inventors: Tony J. Patent number: 6036480Abstract: A combustion burner includes a housing secured to the top of a water heater, a gas tube in fluid communication with a source of gas and depending vertically from the housing and positioned within a heat exchange tube of the water heater. The An ignition assembly depends vertically from the top of the housing through the gas tube and into the heat exchange tube. An angled nozzle, extending from the housing, transports air from an air blower through the housing and into an annulus defined between the exterior of the annular chamber and the interior of the heat exchange tube. A deflector plate having a first and second series of slots and adjacent louvers effects the mixture of the gas and air in the interior of the heat exchange tube and enables the production of a long narrow flame within the heat exchange tube.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: AOS Holding CompanyInventors: Dennis R. Hughes, David W. Kramer, Darryl L. Ruark, Gary J. Potter, Martin P. McCathern, Peter J. Phillip

Patent number: 5735237Abstract: The present invention is a commercial water heater comprising a tank dimensioned to hold a quantity of water, a blower, a heater, a heat exchanger in the water, and a control system. The heat exchanger includes a central tube running from the top of the tank to the bottom and a coil connected to and encircling the central tube. The heater is mounted inside the central tube, and the blower is mounted to the top of the tank, which together simplify manufacture and servicing. The blower is capable of delivering sufficient air for combustion at a pressure and velocity sufficient to drive the exhaust gases fifty feet beyond the water heater outlet, thus avoiding the need for a chimney. The water heater according to the present invention has an average efficiency of 93% with a 1% standby loss and is considerably cheaper to manufacture than other similarly efficient water heaters.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1996Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: AOS Holding CompanyInventors: Peter J. Phillip, Darryl L. Ruark, Gary J. Potter

Patent number: 5399086Abstract: In a direct gas-fire heater assembly having a generally box-like housing with a grate-like floor with a conventional gas regulator, a gas port mounted within a box-like shroud, the shroud having one side with a predetermined number, shape and size of primary combustion air inflow orifices to direct primary combustion air toward the gas port. A burner is mounted on the shroud over the gas port. The area above the burner and adjacent to it contains an ignition device and flame sense rod as well as a pair of opposed and particularly oriented flame shields on each side of the flame orifice. One each of a pair of opposed baffle-type deflectors is arranged on each side and just above the flame shield so as to form a combustion chamber as well as a path for secondary air flow to a downstream chamber. An additional flame deflector is formed on one baffle-type deflector to deflect the flame toward the blower area.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1993Date of Patent: March 21, 1995Assignee: Cambridge Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Gary J. Potter, Samuel M. Baxter
