Patent number: 10837480Abstract: A hollow wall anchor includes a wall penetrating component having an externally threaded portion and a wall penetrating end portion, and a body component having a wall face engaging portion and an internally threaded portion that receives the externally threaded portion of the wall penetrating component. Rotation of the components together in a first direction for wall penetration moves both the wall penetrating component and the body component into the wall until the wall face engaging portion of the body component engages the wall to limit further rotation of the body component while the wall penetrating component continues to rotate such that interacting threads of the two components pull the wall penetrating component further into the body component. As the wall penetrating component is pulled further into the body component one or more retention arms are expanded outwardly behind a rear surface of the wall.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2017Date of Patent: November 17, 2020Assignee: THE HILLMAN GROUP, INC.Inventors: Byron K. Grice, Wayne R. Mayville, Michael J. Schmidt, Jordan D. Shoenhair, Gary J. Schorr

Patent number: 9913635Abstract: Various embodiments of a device are shown and disclosed for closing a vascular access puncture site following percutaneous diagnostic or therapeutic interventional procedures. The vascular closure device is configured to safely and accurately deploy a sealing material that undergoes a phase change when deployed inside the tissue tract. The sealing material may be a solid at room temperature and a liquid or gel at body temperature. Also, the sealing material may change from a liquid or gel to a cubic phase when it comes into contact with bodily fluids.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2015Date of Patent: March 13, 2018Assignee: ST. JUDE MEDICAL PUERTO RICO LLCInventors: Catherine A. Pipenhagen, Melissa K. Gardner, Jyue Boon Lim, William R. Fiehler, Gary J. Schorr, Janet L. Jacobsen

Patent number: 8568445Abstract: Various embodiments of a device are shown and disclosed for closing a vascular access puncture site following percutaneous diagnostic or therapeutic interventional procedures. In one embodiment, the closure device includes a vessel locating member, an anchor and a sealing material. The closure device may be configured to deploy the anchor and the sealing material outside of a hole in a blood vessel to close the hole. The vessel locating member may be used to locate the blood vessel to ensure that the anchor and/or the sealing material are properly placed adjacent to the hole. The closure device may also include a tamper member configured to push or tamp the sealing material against the anchor. The closure device may also include a suture that is used to hold the sealing material and the anchor together adjacent to the hole in the blood vessel.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2007Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignee: St. Jude Medical Puerto Rico LLCInventors: Catherine A.
