    Abstract: A lighting fixture is provided that is capable of handling light bulbs, which output a relatively high level of heat, such as halogen bulbs, in a base up or base down position. The fixture of the invention can be mounted singly or as an element of a modular lighting system. The fixture comprises a head member, a bulb and socket combination, a heat insulating sleeve comprising a heat resistant gasket, and a lamp holder adapted for supports of the aforesaid elements while providing a convenient location for connecting an external electrical power to the fixture. In the modular embodiment of the invention, the lamp holder is replaced by a modular adapter adapted to facilitate connection and/or removal of individual lighting elements.

    Abstract: A toy construction having a light element which can be illuminated without the use of an artificial light source in the toy. The toy comprises a toy body made of an opaque material and having an aperture therethrough, and a light element made of a translucent material having a fluorescent color. The light element is mounted on the toy body and it includes a collecting portion having an enlarged, preferably smooth, collecting surface thereon which is located in an exposed position on the exterior of the toy and an emitting portion having a reduced, preferably roughened, emitting surface thereon which is also located in an exposed position on the exterior of the toy.
