Publication number: 20240170640Abstract: A method of manufacturing a battery electrode includes casting a solid battery electrode from a slurry including electrode particles, a binder, and a solvent, wherein residual solvent remains after the casting and the binder remains at least partially elastic. The solid battery electrode then undergoes flash-freezing such that the residual solvent forms dendritic ice having a pattern, and then the dendritic ice is removed from the solid battery electrode, thereby rearranging the electrode particles and the binder into a microstructure that represents a geometric negative of the pattern of the dendritic ice.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2022Publication date: May 23, 2024Applicant: Ford Motor CompanyInventors: Paul John Bojanowski, Gary Thomas Martini

Patent number: 11947039Abstract: A light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system includes light emitters that emit beams of light of substantially equal intensities. The light emitters form a beam polarization pattern with beams having varying polarizations. The LiDAR system also will include a receiver to receive light reflected from the object. An analyzer will determine characteristic differences between the beam polarization pattern of the beams emitted toward the object and an intensity pattern of the light reflected from the object, determine a reflection position that is associated with the light reflected from the object, and use the determined characteristic differences to determine whether the reflection position is a position of the object or a position of a ghost.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: LG INNOTEK CO., LTD.Inventors: Gary W. Publication number: 20240073016Abstract: The disclosed technique secures a seed phrase configured to access a digital wallet, which holds private keys to access digital assets on a blockchain. Copies of portions of the seed phrase are stored at multiple electronic devices. The seed phrase can be reconstructed at a particular device by retrieving a necessary and sufficient number of the portions from the other devices. In one example, the portions can be shared among devices when in physical proximity to each other and/or when the devices are authenticated as belonging to the same user, which owns the digital wallet. As such, the seed phrase can be stored securely across multiple devices and retrieved even when one of those devices is lost, damaged, or stolen.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Gary Anderson, Jason Sean Gagne-Keats, David John Evans, V
