  • Publication number: 20060265622
Abstract: Apparatus for synchronizing signals. For memory devices, such as SDRAMs, implementing a synchronization device to synchronize one signal, such as an external clock signal with a second signal, such as a data signal, tuning elements may be provided at various points in the signal path of the synchronization device. The tuning elements are designed to be identical, such that a single design may be used to a signal mismatch that is produced in either direction, using a single design. The tuning elements may be implemented to provide uniformity in the access time through a range of conditions, such as drain voltages and temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20060264998
Abstract: A trocar includes a valve housing and cannula which define a working channel. A valve disposed in the valve housing along the working channel includes a gel material which defines a slit that functions as a zero seal in the absence of an instrument, and an instrument seal in the presence of an instrument. The slit is formed by mating gel components which are preferably separated during storage of the device. This separation can be facilitated by a pull strip which can be pre-lubricated and inserted into the slit for ultimate removal prior to activation of the trocar.

  • Publication number: 20060261869
Abstract: Clock synchronization and skew adjustment circuits are described that utilize varying unit delay elements in their delay lines in either a graduated or a stepped unit time delay arrangement, allowing a reduced circuit implementation and improved lock characteristics. These graduated or a stepped unit time delays allow reduction in the number of the fine unit delay elements of the delay lines by placing a fine delay element granularity at the most critical timings to sense and adjust for the portion of the clock signal time period that are high speed or critical. This allows clock synchronization and skew adjustment circuits to be implemented in an optimized manner that exhibits a reduced overall circuit size and power consumption, while having improved lock characteristics over a wide range of frequencies.

  • Patent number: 7137764
Abstract: A configurable base is formed from a plurality of interlocking tiles that may fit within a frame. Anchoring tiles have receptacles for accepting anchors. Smooth panels support heavy items. Accessories are formed to either attach to the anchor or integrally with the anchor. Accessories include tie downs, sidewalls, cross frame and stanchions, and wheel-chocks. The anchor fits into the receptacles for placement anywhere desired on the base. An embodiment of the anchor has a lock for added security. A coupler provides at least one aperture for securing items, preferably positioned on the frame. An alternative configurable bed is formed by orthogonal cross members arranged within a frame. Open spaces between the orthogonal cross members accept anchors. Another alternative configurable bed is formed from a single tile having a plurality of receptacles.

  • Publication number: 20060253613
Abstract: Methods and systems for configuring nodes in a redundant network configuration include identifying a master node from a plurality of nodes in the network by sending a configuration packet to each node. The configuration packet includes an identification number representing the node in the network from which the configuration packet originates, where each node in the network has a unique identification number. At each node in the network, the identification number in the configuration packet is compared to an identification number for that node. In one embodiment, the node whose identification number is greater than the identification number in the configuration packet is designated the master node. A virtual break is created in the network at the location of the master node to prevent a packet from returning to the node from which it originates.

  • Patent number: 7119583
Abstract: A phase detector generates a first output signal if a feedback clock signal leads a reference clock signal by more than a first time. The phase detector generates a second output signal if the feedback clock signal lags the reference clock signal by more than a second time. If the feedback clock signal either leads the reference clock signal by less than the first time or lags the reference clock signal by less than the second time, neither output signal is generated. The phase detector may be used in a delay-lock loop in which the first and second output signals increase or decrease a delay of the reference clock signal by respective first and second delay increments. In such case, the each of the first and second delay increments should be less than the sum of the first and second times.

  • Publication number: 20060208780
Abstract: A delay-locked loop (DLL) with feedback compensation is provided to increase the speed and accuracy of the DLL. After the variable delay line of the DLL is adjusted to minimize phase error, multiple clock cycles may be required before the adjusted signal is fed back to the phase detector. During this time, a signal replicating the adjusted signal is temporarily fed to the phase detector until the adjusted signal reaches the phase detector.

  • Patent number: 7086001
Abstract: A system of networked computers and peripherals and document delivery software which provides a user with a familiar simple user interface to deliver documents to a variety of different destinations. Each document generation device participating in the system is provided with a unified print driver which translates an electronic document into a non-specific or printer independent printer language file and appends to this file a job ticket containing any other rendering characteristics which may not be supported by the printer independent language. This entire file is then transmitted to the system server which analyzes the file, including the rendering characteristics; determines the best output device(s); appends output device specific commands to the general printer language file; and transmits this file to the device(s) for final output.

  • Publication number: 20060148023
Abstract: The invention provides assay methods and reagents useful for evaluating the level of enzyme activities within living cells. Enzyme activity levels within living cells, such as Serine proteases, can be key determinates in assessing; 1) the presence of tumor (cancer) cells, 2) the predictive efficacy of a chemotherapeutic treatment regimen using a particular therapeutic agent or process, 4) the probability of graft rejection or acceptance, and 5) the disease state status of a cell. The identification of the up or down regulation relationships of serine proteases within living cell systems, provides a rapid, yet finely tuned mechanism for predicting the current and future physiological state of these cell populations.

  • Publication number: 20060081362
Abstract: An apparatus and method for fabricating an externally finned tubular heat exchanger assembly comprising two concentric thin walled tubular members defining therebetween an intermediate inner annular fluid flow channel, and positionally fixed therewithin an internal turbulizer strip extending longitudinally in a helical spiral. The tubulizer strip is embossed with corrugations prior to installation into the intermediate inner annular fluid flow channel. The corrugated strip is helically spiraled with sequential bridge gap spaces between adjacent serial turns wherein the corrugations form a series of triangular cross-sectional fluid flow passageways. Turbulizer corrugation expansion, after insertion into the inner intermediate annular fluid flow channel, mechanically anchors the corrugated turbulizer strip to the second inner concentric tubular member that has an end groove to provide engagement connection.
