  • Publication number: 20250096658
Abstract: A method for making a brushless DC motor includes the steps of: applying coils to a plurality of teeth that extend radially outwardly from an inner ring; mounting an outer ring to radially outer ends of the plurality of teeth; and removing segments of the inner ring.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 14, 2023
    Publication date: March 20, 2025
    Inventor: Gary Joseph Sutton
  • Patent number: 12212257
Abstract: A Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) includes a hollow cylindrical stator with stator windings and a magnetic rotor having M pole pairs arranged to rotate around a rotational axis in the stator by a rotor shaft. The stator windings are energized to generate a magnetic rotational field in dependence upon the rotational position of the magnetic rotor. Two or more analog magnetic flux sensors are positioned within the hollow cylindrical stator and arranged concentrically with respect to the rotational axis around the stator at a constant mechanical angle equal to a constant electrical angle divided by M relative to each other.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2023
Date of Patent: January 28, 2025
    Assignee: Raytheon Company
Inventors: Andrew Christopher Walecka, Gary Joseph Sutton
