  • Patent number: 4190957
Abstract: A container opener particularly adapted for opening a container wherein the end wall of the container is provided with a preformed line of weakness. The container opener includes a closure member having depending therefrom an annular blade tapering in height for progressively effecting rupture along the line of weakness. A magnet is centrally located within the blade for retaining the cutout panel portion. The opener may be a simple device which is directly pushed toward the container manually, or may be incorporated in a suitable fixture including a base for supporting the container to be opened in a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4165015
Abstract: Easy opening configurations for forming in a container panel a dispensing opening. Each easy opening configuration is generally defined by one cut line and one or more score lines. A pull tape overlies the easy opening configuration and has a terminal end permanently bonded to the container panel. The pull tape also has a permanent bond with a removable panel portion defined by the cut and score lines as well as a peelable bond with the container panel surrounding the removable panel portion. If desired, apertures may be formed at the ends of the cut line to prevent initiation of rupture along the score lines. Also, if desired, force reducing openings may be formed in the removable panel portions.

  • Patent number: 4165017
Abstract: A child resistant pull tab arrangement wherein the pull tab is provided with an upstanding peripheral hem which on the side of the rivet remote from the nose portion of the tab is configurated so as to touch or substantially touch the container wall in the initial position thereof so as to resist lifting by a small child. The tab may have associated with it an upstanding rib formed in the container wall, the rib extends about the lift portion of the tab in closely adjacent relation and makes it even more difficult to engage one's finger beneath the tab so as to effect the required initial lifting.

  • Patent number: 4147283
Abstract: A combined charging and product dispensing unit is provided for reception in the mouth of a container in sealed relation with the unit, including a valve body having a container of liquid gas carried thereby. The valve body is provided with a valve assembly for manually controlling the flow of gas under pressure out through the valve body into the container to pressurize the interior of the container. The unit also includes a discharge tube which is connected to a discharge nozzle carried by an actuator for the valve unit.

  • Patent number: 4142653
Abstract: A dispensing device for dispensing the contents of dispensers of the can type. The dispensing device includes a housing which is snapped into engagement with a container upper chime. The housing has a flexible bag therein which is deformable by way of a pivotally mounted lever so that the bag volume may be varied to sequentially draw a product from a container thereinto through a tube and to dispense that product under pressure by way of a valve controlled nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4136802
Abstract: A dispensing unit which may be readily incorporated in an enclosure, such as a conventional can. The dispensing unit includes a readily collapsible bag in which a product to be dispensed is stored, and a plurality of spring strips. Each of the spring strips is of a construction to inherently roll into a coiled form and constantly urging the collapsing of the container. When the container is incorporated in an enclosure of the general can type including an upper end unit secured to a body by a seam, upper end portions of the spring strips may be anchored within the seam.
