Publication number: 20230319036Abstract: A system can efficiently control access to an interactive computing environment. The system can receive authentication data of an authentication attempt associated with an entity. The system can determine, for the entity, a historical vector including features that include sub-features. The historical vector can be determined by generating synthetic data, generating weights, and determining probabilities. The synthetic data can be based on historical authentication attempts by entities other than the entity. The weights can correspond to sub-features of the historical vector. The probabilities can indicate a likelihood that a corresponding sub-feature is involved in the authentication attempt. The system can compare the historical vector to the authentication data. The system can generate a responsive message based on the comparison for controlling access to the interactive computing environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2022Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Dilip SINGH, Gary KELLER, Robert BEATTY, Sriram TIRUNELLAYI

Publication number: 20220219135Abstract: Disclosed herein are composite materials and methods of making and use thereof. The composite materials comprise: a carbon nanotube and a plurality of ferrihydrite particles disposed on the carbon nanotube, the composite material comprising the plurality of ferrihydrite particles and the carbon nanotube in a weight ratio of from 5:95 to 95:5. The weight ratio can be selected such that the composite material has a desired balance between specific surface area and specific capacitance. Also disclosed herein are methods comprising: making a plurality of the composite materials, the weight ratio of the plurality of ferrihydrite particles and the carbon nanotube being different for each composite material; and determining and comparing the specific surface area and specific surface capacitance for the plurality of composite materials to determine the weight ratio at which the composite material has a desired balance between the specific surface area and the specific capacitance.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2022Publication date: July 14, 2022Inventors: Thien Tran, Daniel Deocampo, Gary Keller

Publication number: 20130341278Abstract: In one embodiment, a reactive filtration method includes continuously regenerating a reactive filter media while simultaneously filtering contaminants from fluid flowing through the filter media. In one embodiment, regenerating the reactive filter media comprises mixing metal granules with the filter media and agitating the mixture. In another embodiment, regenerating the reactive filter media comprises introducing a metal in the fluid flowing through the filter media and agitating the filter media. In one embodiment, a method for removing phosphorus, arsenic or a heavy metal from water includes introducing a metal salt reagent into the water at a molar ratio of 5:1 to 200:1 to the phosphorous or the arsenic in the water and passing the water through a bed of moving sand.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2013Publication date: December 26, 2013Applicant: THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHOInventors: Greg Moller, Kevin Brackney, Roger Korus, Gary Keller, Brian Hart, Remembrance Newcombe

Publication number: 20080121699Abstract: Improved methods and systems for automated, self-service issuing of a card or other object to an individual. The system can include a self-service issuing machine that is configured to issue a card or object to a user, allow return of the card or object back into the machine, and later reissuing of the card or object to the same or different user. The machine can be used in a number of applications, including with an access control system that controls access into and throughout a building(s). The machine can be configured to dispense temporary re-usable badges to employees, contractors, and visitors. The badges can be returned to the machine, which stores the returned badges for later re-issuance to a later user needing a temporary badge. The machine can also integrate with an enterprise access control system that controls access to a number of dispersed building sites.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2006Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: DATACARD CORPORATIONInventors: Peter THORSEN, Gary KELLER, Harry OLSON, Patrick S. Publication number: 20050224490Abstract: A cooking appliance includes an exhaust system that substantially eliminates potential smoke generating byproducts carried by oven gases. The cooking appliance includes an oven cavity having a top wall including a recessed portion within which is mounted a broil element. A plurality of openings are formed in the recessed portion that allow exhaust gases to pass into a smoke elimination chamber. Heat generated by the broil element and in the smoke elimination chamber removes substantially all combustion byproducts contained in the exhaust gases. To further remove combustion byproducts, the exhaust gases are passed through a ceramic catalyst prior to being directed into a vent duct. From the vent duct, the exhaust gasses are directed past a blower into an exhaust duct that, ultimately, guides the exhaust gases from the appliance.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2004Publication date: October 13, 2005Inventors: Kerry Austin, Perry Bennett, Norman Davis, Dean Griffey, Steven Haring, Donnie Keith, Gary Keller, Jeffrey McLeod
