Abstract: The present invention is for compositions and methods for managing the body weight of a subject using said compositions. Weight management, particularly weight gain and loss, is effectuated by producing a sensation of satiety in said subjects. The method of managing body weight includes administering the composition prior to food consumption, concurrent with food consumption, as replacement for food consumption and combinations thereof.

Abstract: Disclosed are compositions, kits, and methods which are useful for the treatment of gastrointestinal conditions in mammals. In one embodiment, the disclosure is directed to a method of treating a gastrointestinal condition in a mammal in need of such treatment, wherein the method comprises administering to the mammal a composition comprising a non-glyceryl ester of a long chain fatty acid. In another embodiment, the invention is directed to a method of treating a gastrointestinal condition in a mammal in need of such treatment, wherein the method comprises administering to the mammal a bismuth component and a long chain fatty acid component. In yet another embodiment, the disclosure is directed to a kit comprising a composition comprising a non-glyceryl ester of a long chain fatty acid; and information that the composition is useful for the treatment of a gastrointestinal condition in mammals.
